Dukes, the 390s have been out for awhile already. Holeshot has them. $5499+ for the Duke/ $5999+ for the RC. From what I hear the comfort seat is a must.

Its $7k after taxes and PDI and all that BS. I know 2 people who bought them from Holeshot, who advised them they had the best mechanics in the industry. Well when they received their bikes, a lot of the PDI procedures were missed or imcomplete.

From my buddies FB post:

Here are the list of Poor PDI from the 2 Duke 390 we bough from Holeshot. My had loose handle bar bolts , licence plate holes not drilled , antifeeze below min , OK decals not remove , antifreeze all over the radiator area , charging cable not installed. My buddy Duke , inproper install handlebar clamp, low antifreeze with anti freeze spill all over radiator , PDI rubber bands not removed , rear seat not proper mounted , upon close inspection they install the battery cable the wrong way causing the seat not to latch. Holes not drilled for licence plate. The salesman told me they have the best mechanics in the industry back in Nov 2014 when I put deposit. He offer to take bike back into the shop. I said no. Just help me load it up on my truck. I say stay away from Holeshit.

I heard a dealer on the Island is $200 cheaper and they offer to pay the ferry ride both ways. It maybe a better option for those interested. But I would stay away from Holeshit. When I was inquiring about a Grom. Took over 30 mins to get someone to even help me. Let alone the sales service was crap. I was ready with Cash in hand to buy and they lost my sale with their attitude. Bought my Grom for $300 less at Honda Center, when Holeshit wouldnt move on price.

I heard really good things about the Duke 390 and I am considering it as a 2nd hand bike once its on the used market. Then again KTM service maintenance isnt cheap, so hopefully its easy to work on.

I would never buy a bike from Holeshot.

The West Kelowna KTM dealer is about 15 minutes from my place. I'll check them out.

It's too bad the 390 Duke doesn't have 4 way hazard lights like the CB 300F/CBR 300R does. I think all bikes should have four way hazard lights.

And do they sell the 125 Duke in Canada??

Only problem with bike hazards is you have to leave the key in it to turn them on! Like I'm gonna do that on my gixxer

Thanks for that.

A 390 would be great, but I think a 125 would be perfect for the city.

And wow...Holeshot.

so at the bike show in january i picked up some soft sided bags that strap to the bike for $80. figured they would be good for when i do long road trips or bike camping or whatever. realized i never actually test fitted it on the bike so i tried it out. im super happy for the money. and they expand like crazy!

once expanded, the inside pockets EASILY swallow my ultralight chair and self inflating pillow. the top of the bag also has 8 eyelets for strapping. so i can easily strap my tent, self inflating mat and i guess sleeping bag. those would be the only things that wouldn't fit inside either the panniers, huge tank bag or backpack.

oh, AND it came with waterproof covers! yeah for $80 im very happy

I tried to park next to you the other day.

I'm actually there like 4 times a week buying stuff for my business. People always seem to think I work there and ask me where shit is.

I rode my black r3 that day. I'm usually there in a van but carry around a red and black alpine stars back pack. Skinny Chinese guy. When I used to have my blue Toyota lanyard around my neck, I swear people would come up to me every time I was there to ask me where certain things were.

1. My motorcycle road exam is coming up June 17.
2. Um, I sold my CBR 125R over a month ago. We're moving to Kelowna and one of my vehicles had to go.
3. The guy I sold it to is trying to sell it already. Wants to upgrade to a 250.

2014 Honda CBR 125 *Excellent condition* 6000 km
He's definitely entertaining offers...

As for my road exam, I'm going to use 1st Gear's Yamaha XT225. Easy bike to ride especially for U-turns. I did one road ride and one practice road exam with them since I sold my bike so I think I'm good to go.

As for getting another bike, it still stands that I'm not going to buy a bike until I buy a house in about 2 years. I need that incentive to be diligent about saving my money and nothing tortures me more right now than being without my own bike.

Question. Isnt the XT225 not capable of giving you a full license. I thought it had to be 250cc+, I used the nighthawk for my test from 1st gear back in the fall/winter(Nov). Had to ride the bike back to the shop in the snow.. Good times..

Nope, 201cc+. If it was 250cc+, a 234cc Nighthawk 250 would not have worked.

And yikes. I wonder if the road examiners are more lenient in inclement weather conditions? Did you take your test at Lansdowne?

Those pannier bags are awesome.

I seriously can't wait to own a bike again, so many nice roads in the Okanagan and BC in general to ride on and explore.
