Buy, sell, trade bikes and gear, set up bike rallies, meet discussions. #revscenebikes
Did you have insurance when the bike was stolen? I'm sure you have settled with ICBC so the bike would be their property now. If not, congrats on getting it back! That's huge.
I don't believe there are any particularly sophisticated bike theft organizations operating in the Lower Mainland. The internet and social media has made the bike community much smaller and more tightly integrated ... I think most of the theft is likely idiots who aren't aware of how hard it is to secure and then sell a "hot" bike or how easy it is for others to identify the origin of parts that are being sold that came off of a stolen bike.
I feel for you having a bike stolen ... this is mine getting stolen last year :
so, went riding on my tiny kawi with my buddy on his diavel. the kawi is running fucking mint and its great. replaced the rear light as it was shorting out and now of course my flasher relay is gone. whatevs it was probably the 35 year old original.
well, we parted ways and then almost immedietly after getting off the knight street bridge, it sputtered and stalled again. so i pulled over and let it cool. a fantastic creepy white guy in a van pulled over and saw i was somewhat stranded
by this time i was honestly 2 minutes from home so i was in no rush really. but he was so kind to turn around after passing and made sure everything was ok. it was very very hot out, so just as he was pulling away, he whipped out a beer and made sure i stayed hydrated in the mid day sun. i didn't drink it until i got home, but my god. faith in humanity restored
ps: toying with the idea of getting rid of it again. the girlfriend wants a newer gsxr (hers is just... old... but not in the good way) and i figure i'd be willing to take the 1k or whatever from this bike towards her cause

Was reminded of the importance of proper gear today. Motorcyclist went down on Foster at Dogwood around 4:45ish today. I hope he'll be okay, he wasn't wearing any gear other than an open faced helmet (cruiser type bike). Looked like he high sided, there were pieces of bike everywhere He had a lot of help though, cyclist called an ambulance, construction workers from down the street were directing traffic.
Please ride safe guys!

^^^^^ exactly, wear your gear. Even though it's 2000 degrees outside, you never know when some car might pull out in front of you, or cross into your lane without checking, or you might just slip on a dirty surface (happened to me).
Friday I'm out riding with the girlfriend. Saturday I'm free all morning/afternoon. Totally down for the squam ride keeping the pace sub-impound speeds
Pop quiz : the blue bike is a Yamaha R6 ... what's the yellow bike? Really... I can't figure it out and feel so silly.
I still remember when this track was fresh (ALMOST 20 YEARS AGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).
Yellow bike is a Suzuki GSXR, no clue how many cc's, whichever one came with dual exhaust, cause the pipes look stock.

I'm not looking, but it seems super clean. Love the classic colour scheme. From pics it looks very well kept. Micron exhaust and Penske rear shock?? I bet you more goodies are hiding in there. Worth checking out

Looks like a Suzuki TLR to me, look at the double scoops on the side of the fairing, check out 2:20 you can see it clearly and the exhaust matches up.
