OEM Dunlop Sportmax Qualifiers were really meh anyways, will probably sell them back out for cheap because of the nail.

Fuck I found out why it held air in no problem, there was no puncture. Nail head was about 5mm in diameter, pulled it out and it was the size of a staple. Meh

I can't believe people actually patch bikes tires or that bike shops even allow the practice. Watch a bike tire in slow motion at speed in a corner, coming out of a corner or under hard braking. Bike tires have so much movement and if that patch fails the consequences are so much worse than a car.

Thinking of insuring the bike. Battery is dead (was new 2 years ago - had it on trickle charger on and off but it seems completely dead. Any recommendations for an affordable battery to get?
Last one was purchased from Modern (no name? and forgot the price). Should I just get the same? Thanks!

(2003 Honda CBR600 F4i) | Check out the difference between trickle charger vs battery tender. I'd suggest the latter in future.

Friend of mine got a real slim lithium one ... that was new to me. Had to put foam around so that it doesn't move in the usual battery space.

Had another PCMRC race this weekend. It was super hot so lots of riders really felt the heat. Ended up with a 1st Place Win in Spec over 21 and 2nd Place in Spec SuperSport.
Some highlight pics from the race weekend.
Respect!

Picked up a touring bike a few weeks ago after 20 years off riding. I've put over 2600km in those two weeks thus far. Motor is bored out to 110ci, so it goes plenty quick enough for a 900lbs bike. |

I'm only 5'9" with 30" inseams (average male is 34" inseam) and I can flat foot this bagger. The Honda Goldwings and FB6 site quite low, and the weight balance is incredible with the motor in front of you and the gas tank below you - they are a 800lbs bike that feels like a 400lbs bike. Those Goldwings will go for 200k easy, hold their value, go like stink, and have so many cool features like on the fly adjustable suspension, ability to raise or lower the windshield, remote bags - the list goes on.
Anyways, I grew up touring and long rides on my dad's bike and it never left my blood. I toured across Canada on my bike when I was 18, from White Rock to Perce Quebec. It never left my mind, so I am glad to be back with the wind in my face. Might go up to Kelowna this week providing it isn't pouring out - the Coq in a rainstorm is not a lot of fun to ride, done it too many times in the past when my girlfriend lived in Kamloops and the only wheels I had was a bike.

I had to visit a client in Summerland and also West Kelowna today, decided to get up early and take the bike. Managed 1004 kilometres and almost exactly 14 hours from my front door to returning home. It rained from Hope to Merritt, it was cold on the Connector, hot in Summerland, and everything in between. It was perfect.
Met another Harley rider at Tim's in Hope, so we rode together up to Merritt. I missed the biking camaraderie. |
