That being said, I’m looking at buying a used bike. How did you guys bring home your first bike if you didn’t have anyone to help you? I was thinking of calling a flatbed tow truck to tow it home lol
i did my road prep and rides with 1st gear, the course was good i enjoyed it i did it in coquitlam since its closer for me, and had more spaces, it right next of the ikea, if you need someone to help you bring a bike home, hit me up and i can ride it to your place. for my first bike i got it in abbotsford the a day after my mst and rode it straight home. the course will prep you, and give you the confidence to ride on the street.

Met the rider 2 nights ago, had a nice run to tawassen and back to Coco for bbt. His goodbye was our last together. Nice young chinese guy on an R6.

Right now it's too early to tell what happened cuz there were no witness but last known location was Lions Bay and stopped to take a call. After that no one knows what really happened.

His group rode ahead to Squambucks and waited for an hour and then went back to find out what happened at the scene.

Everyone ride safe and call the RCMP if you see any white Honda/Toyota missing a rear bumper

I have my class 6 road test coming up in March and wanted to know how strict is ICBC(examiner) with mods on your bike?

I bought my Yamaha R3 with a couple mods on it and it didn’t come with the OEM parts to put it back to stock. It has a akrapovic slip-on exhaust and LED turn signals that sit flush with the fairings.

Do you guys think I might be able to get away with the mods?

I don't think they care, to be honest. As long as the bike is functional and has all lights function and are visible, you should be ok. If I recall, and this was over a decade ago for me, you do a quick walk around with the road test adjudicator.

If in doubt, and assuming you took a a course through a school, you may be able to use or rent their motorcycle for your road test. The alternative to that is to ask a good friend to lend you their bike. Good luck!

Thanks for the info guys. Sadly, the examiner didn't like my flush mount turn signals when I went for my road test today in Richmond and wouldn't let me take it. I don't know if it was this particular examiner that was picky and if I should try and book another appointment in hopes I get a different examiner. My license expires next month and I rather not restart the whole thing if I can even get another appointment before then.

Any folks back on two wheels this season? Would be nice to see a few bikes come out to a tentative Stock & Noob meet in June.

I'm going to refamiliarize myself on riding again.

Sharing a nice little twisty rip through the back roads of Fort Langley, brings you past the red barn. Its always nice to see other routes that aren't the S2S or HWY7

Anything but S2S, I don't understand the popularity. So many better local rides. Seymour still my favourite.

Will a bike with an integrated rear light and no rear fender pass an inspection in BC? I'm assuming it won't but I wanted to double check before I start buying parts.

yeah that's what I figured. I'm trying to decide if it's worth the hassle to reinspect my dual sport to sell it as street legal or just leave it registered as a dirt bike. I should probably check if the tires are street legal, I assume they have a similar DOT mark as car tires.

It's a 2009 Konker 200SM, a pretty much exact clone of a Suzuki DR200SE that supposedly uses a Suzuki engine made when they were farming out their smaller engines to China.

Bump bump bump!

Been a while since I've last caught up with the local riding scene.

Are there any shops or techs recommended to adjust suspension preload and sag? I need some help on my 2009 Ducati Monster 696. The rear shock's pre-load is really tight, causing me to severely understeer into corners.

I used to go to Marbod of M-Speed but I think he's no longer in business. I heard through the grapevine there's a local champ racer who also doubles up at Modern Motorcycling, but the name escapes me. Edit: His name is Spero Benias. He does this as a service on his days off.

I know there's also Nico at Moto Mechanica in Burnaby, but he's busy AF (understandably so given all he works on are Italian bikes.)

Thanks in advance!
