newb question.. but where can I get some chain cleaner & chain lube? Would Lordco stock the parts, or do I need to visit a motorcycle specific store? Thanks.

Raid3n 04-22-2013 05:55 PM

lordco has precious little for motorcycles.. :c

?NR 04-22-2013 06:05 PM

motorcycle specific store would be best. But in a bind even Crap Tire has some castrol messy chain lube. Or u can grab some Teflon chain wax.

i have the castrol chain lube and the gunk chain lube.. looking into a Scottoiler.

rk604 04-22-2013 11:09 PM

they're all messy...don't get too caught up in all the name brands imo. Get whatever is the easiest to get since you should be lubing it every 5-1000km. I've used motul and chain wax and they're both messy...i have to wipe it down quite a bit after lubing & riding it for the first few km

dink 04-23-2013 07:04 AM

Carter Honda has both in motul, that's what I used
I would use the motul chain clean again, but not the wax. Its a mess

Lube just get anything a motorcycle shop has. I would stay away from that wax stuff e.g. maxima chain wax or whatever. Heard eh things about it, not negative, just not that positive.

I use Belray super clean, but planning on switching to bel ray blue tack

Pricier, but i like that it turns the chain white, so you can see it and it looks pretty fresh!

For chain cleaner, save yourself the dollars and go to cambodian tire and spend 20 bucks for a lifetime supply or kerosene. Many chain manufacturers actually only recommend kerosene to clean the chain. Kerosene is NOT the same as camping fuel! Make sure it says "Kerosene"

z3german 04-23-2013 12:22 PM

by the way guys, killer deal on a go pro silver. $199 Brand new, not original packaging though, but for a hundy off something that never fucking goes on sale is enough for me to look past that.

I think the guy who posted the video said they were stopped for a funeral procession.

Incase you were wondering what was being screamed - "God forbid can't you see that this is a funeral procession? God forbid."

laxfan727
if the funeral procession seemed to be on the other side of the road then why did that blue car stop in the middle of the road?

those were the 2 top comments, so still not sure why that car stopped right where he/she did.

don't get blue tac I used it and I did not like it, super sticky and stringy made a mess every time I used it. There is nothing wrong with the maxima chain wax, but I'll be switching back to blue ray super clean after I'm done with the maxima can

Motorcycle Crashes into Bicycles 4/27/2013 - YouTube

ahahahah gave me a good chuckle. anyways, for those that own the bel ray super clean, where did you guys pick up this stuff? obviously bike shops arent open today or tmr and my chain is due for some cleaning. also, i'm not sure if i should use wd40 or not to clean off all the crap on my chain cause some people say use it and some say to stay away :considered:

CharlieH 04-28-2013 03:47 PM

how the shit did that even happen? he was out of the corner already and still managed to target fixate on the cyclist when hes going in a straight line... lol noob

I've used wd40 to clean my chain and no problems so far, does a really good job just make sure you dry it as best you can before adding the chain lube/wax

rk604 04-28-2013 05:24 PM

i use wd40 to clean the gunk and old wax off the chain, wipe of, wait then lube it back up

Excuse the quality of video, it's probably taken by a Nikon Potato.

WTF?
