Aw wish I saw this earlier... just got back from squamish :okay::alone: |
going to do my first winter storage in the next couple days. i found this article online, and i was just wondering if its a good guide or not, or if theres any changes you would do when storing. Motorcycle Winter Storage - Motorcycle Maintenance Guide |
^ Don't forget to lube the cables and the clean&lube the chain too! |
That's a pretty good guide. Followed it myself last season. Later on if u have any major maintenance items, it's a good time to work on it while the bike sleeps for the winter. More riding time when it's warmer. Posted via RS Mobile |
Seafoam is on sale at cambodian tire this week, I prefer that over Stabil for the gas tank for winterizing. |
i'm gonna ride until i see frost on my seat in the morning haha |

i may not even last that long. being warm in the mornings is too nice haha |
the only thing that gets cold is my hands cuz im still wearing summer gloves lol im putting the bike in storage today =[ |
Ditto. I have a jacket with 2 zip off layers but only summer gloves. Hands suffer so much on the hwy Posted via RS Mobile |
i got a pair of icon patrol's the other day from bayside when i went to pick up a new rain suit |
I have to take it out for the last ride of the season. Put Seafoam and a tank of 94 octane (no ethanol) but have to do about 45 km to work it through the sub tank and through the injectors before storage. I rode last winter, took the course first week of Jan, and have not been off the bike, but this winter I will store it. So tomorrow the plan is Walk the Dog Ride the Bike (1 to 2 hours) Refill the tank & more Seafoam Clean Air and Crankcase filters Wash the bike, when it cools down Let dry Take plate off Cover with a few sheets. Cancel riding insurance. |
i paid 90$ to cancel my insurance yesterday =[ |
Beaut day today for a ride , jelly early cancelers :)? Posted via RS Mobile |
Eh...it's way too sketchy man to ride in this weather. People in cars drive so sketchy when it's raining...you got both slow drivers and drivers that are impatient of slower ones. Posted via RS Mobile |
^ this right here is why i stopped |
Did 50 km today and am getting ready to put the bike away for the season. Rain is forecast for the week. |
Might go For a quick jaunt tonight if anyone is keen? Later though like 10-11. I'm by the PNE and will prolly do marine low road Text me if you're interested 6046194536 |
jesus christ i wish i had a go pro. going over the alex fraser bridge (i think it is the one from delta to richmond) like 10 min ago, the scene looked exactly like it does on post cards, beautiful British Columbia, it was stunning! |
Did it smell like shit? Thats how you know you crossed the alex fraser :D |
It sure was nice. Nice surprise b/c the original forecast was rain |
I have a question for storing your bike at home (in a heated garage). I have a front (triple tree stand) and a rear stand. I've read some posts that bikes shouldnt be stored for long periods on a front stand (whether it be triple tree or regular front fork stand) and I've read some posts where you can store on a front stand... Anyone hear differently? Currently I'm just on rear stand with piece of carpet under the front wheel... Thanks in advance :) |
Best to put them on both stands if you have them. |
