A good bike that's a balance between decent power and ease of learning would probably be a 500cc bike. they are a bit more expensive than the 250/300 class but at least you won't have any troubles on the highways. if you want new then I'd recommend taking a look at the CBR500 range or if used then GS500 or ninja 500

+1 For the GS500 can be had for pretty cheap and is a super forgiving bike.

Also a good starter bike is the old Ninja 500 (2002 era) they are about $ 3000 used.

Styling is a bit dated, but you can tell people it's a classic.

And hello guys! Haven't been in here since like September

First I'd take a riding instruction course, like PRS, before I did anything. Then after finishing it, having a much better idea of the type of riding/bike you may enjoy, I would go looking.
Good starter bikes across various categories: a smaller metric cruiser, sv650, one of the kawasaki 650's, honda or kawasaki 500, gs500, ninja or cbr 250, drz 400

meh... I know that my bike comes with a magnetic drain plug from factory and seeing as how you have the same bike as me, yours should have one too.

Alpinestars Apex Drystar Gloves - RevZilla
I bought a pair of the apex drystar gloves from the show this weekend.
They only had a small and a XXL left so I grabbed the last small.

It did fit a tad bit snug though, not to the point where it cuts my circulation off. I then later on saw a medium sized one at another booth and tried that on. It felt a little more roomy with a tiny bit more finger gap at the tip of my fingers, the small did also have a small finger tip gap as well though.

But what I'm getting at here is, do you guys prefer it to be a bit more snug or more roomy? I'm not sure which would be better.

If just a bit snug on a leather (goatskin) glove is good as it will stretch as it breaks in.

The latest generation GoPro (and all previous) are terrific. I don't think Contour exists anymore though.

+1 on the GoPro, just don't put it on your helmet and go past 120km/h with it.... that little camera can create A LOT of drag... nearly took my helmet off the first time I did it, lol

nice! as long as you read through the book, the written should be no problem.
took me less than 10 mins to do.

and then with your class 5, you only have to wait a week to do the mst, and a month to do the roadtest.

i think you can use your ruckus for the mst, but from what i have seen at the burnaby location they will mark tougher for you than a full size bike.

when you do your roadtest, make sure to take it on 250cc or bigger. i don't know if its true but i heard anything less and you get restricted to 250 and under.

I actually sold the ruck to put a downpayment on my focus. First things first, i gotta get new gear! My old stuff was way too big and i lost weight. And I have no idea where my helmet is so i gotta start from scratch.

Second, one of my friends in burkville (and his bro) have quite the collection of bikes and ducatis. I think he has a few daily bikes. Might ask him if his offer is still valid to help me ride and learn.

I haven't ridden dirt bikes in so many years. Shits gonna be sloppy at first

It's been posted for half a year, he's asking way too much for an old generation cbr. There are newer generation 08's posted for less than that. All the Repsol is, is just a fairing kit and orange painted wheels.

It's almost as bad as that dude on bcsb selling his 2002 GSXR 1000 for $6500

you can pick up a k6 1000 for around that price range
