I went to go see it yesterday told me to come to dunsmuir and granville. saying the bike was in a parking garage in a building called the hudson. He never answered my calls or texts once i got there.

He bailed on me two days before that too.

I wouldn't waste your time.

anyone able to chime in on this.

my bike has this really rough texture to it, on the gas tank and fairing.

almost as if its got a bad paint job, but this texture only exists on surfaces, anywhere near the sides or even under is completely smooth.

do I need to clay bar it?

I really doubt it was repainted.

also the bike was sitting since july 2011 in a garage just by itself in the corner, when I got it home it had spider webs everywhere and spider babies too..

That's what I thought too, guy previously just dumped it there in the corner probably collected so much dust that it stuck on. If that's even possible. LOL.

You're right ... run!

If the guy is this shady ... the bike itself is probably a mess.

zilley: could be contaminants.. if it's still there after claybar it is either orange peel or the first signs of rust under the paint.

Quick Question: i stored my bike in October, put in fuel stabilizer and had a full tank in there.... originally planned on being back to riding by May but now I won't be back in Vancouver till at least July... how long is that tank of gas good for? should i worry about it doing damage to my bike?

if it has fuel stabilizer in it at the proper amount, it should be fine.

maybe only run it half a tank and then top up fresh early

If the tank is full then you don't have to worry about rust, in which case you only have to worry about the fuel itself. Just run it and take it easy for the first tank and a bit, or siphon it out and refill it with fresh fuel before you ride it, it's not like bikes have terribly big tanks.

They will be sending me the replacement blackplate for it!

Good service from Sena

Would not risk it, stabilizer is cheap.

Depending on the gas and its many variables that it encounters before it even goes into your tank, other peoples success with storing gas isnt a good indicator of whether its safe or not.

Def get some stabilizer, a bottle is like $10 and it will last you 2 seasons. If you dont spend the money you chance the gas gumming up in your lines, and guess how the hell you gonna have to clean that out
