touring with sportbike has anyone done it? crossing multiple provinces/states super uncomfortable? |
ive always wanted to do this, also wonder the same thing. |
i did 1700km in 2 days on a standard that i had to ride the tits off of to get any speed, with a more modern bike like yours, ghost, it shouldn't be too bad. how far are you planning to go and how long in one stint? |
i wouldn't do it...my back started killing me just going to hells gate :( |
i went to osoyoos and back on a 04 r6 and the ride there was ok..had a couple pit stops for 20-30 min and people took my stuff so it was just me on the bike but on the ride back a week after and i really felt it i dunno why the ride there was fine.. ride back sucked and thats only like 400 km |
I did 10000km on honda cbr600rr in the US for 2 weeks, I had problems with my legs crap up a bit. My back was fine, since my bike sit more upright than say a R6. Overall it wasn't bad, having a sportbike for the twisty was alot of fun. Only thing that was a real pain was filling up every 220 to 250 kms. I had soft saddlebag and tailbag, just carried the essentials. |
Colleagues of mine in Calgary tour on their sport bikes yearly. R6 / GSX-R 600 / ZX-14 / CBR1000RR / Hayabusa + I'm forgetting a few They start in Calgary and usually end up in Phoenix, AZ or Las Vegas. They usually go for 2 weeks straight. If I recall correctly, they've been doing this for over 8 years with no real complaints other than the usual back aches and sore wrists. These are guys in their late 30s and 40s. One of them is 56 this year. :p |
was thinking of heading down to California |
