This is good ... Tomlin taking this fella under his wing. Just hope that this isn't an affirmative action hiring and that Flores does have some strength in the Defense.

Steelers hire Brian Flores as an assistant amid his lawsuit against NFL

SkinnyPupp 02-19-2022 03:32 PM

Flores had the Dolphins playing way beyond expectations... This could be Tomlin setting up the next successor for the Steelers who only hire a coach every other decade. This is really scary as a Ravens fan.

I wonder if The Rock made this deal after he introduced the Super Bowl LUL

The Official *NFL* thread

Wow, Aaron Rodgers got paid big time.

https://www.nfl.com/news/aaron-rodge...year-200m-deal

Aaron Rodgers is returning to the Packers, and he won't be leaving anytime soon.

The Packers and the all-world quarterback have agreed to terms on a four-year, $200 million extension that makes him the highest-paid player on an annual basis in NFL history, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday. The reigning MVP will get a whopping $153 million guaranteed and his cap number will go down.

All that money for Rodgers…just to never beat the 49ers in playoff games in his career. LUL

Worst investment ever. He was a one time SB champ and a PIA. San Fran super happy about this.

mikemhg 03-08-2022 09:26 AM

Didn't they just draft a QB a few years back too? :lol

pastarocket 03-08-2022 10:13 AM

The 49ers division rival just made a huge trade.

Russell Wilson plays for the Broncos now!

https://www.nfl.com/news/broncos-acq...s%20March%2016.

The Seahawks have agreed in principle on a trade sending nine-time Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson to the Broncos for a massive haul that includes multiple first-round draft picks, plus additional picks and players, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported.

Denver informed quarterback Drew Lock he is part of the package headed to Seattle, Pelissero added. Defensive lineman Shelby Harris is also joining the Seahawks, per NFL Network's James Palmer.

The deal cannot be finalized until the new league year begins March 16.

I am hearing from a colleague (a 49ers fan who calls Seattle the Sea Chickens haha), that Seattle gets two 1st round picks, two 2nd round picks, and a fifth round pick, plus players like Lock, Noah Fant, and Shelby Harris.

whitev70r 03-08-2022 02:24 PM

Wow to the Russell Wilson trade ... that's BIG! So who's going to take over in Seattle? Gino?

SkinnyPupp 03-08-2022 03:14 PM

With the way Seattle drafts, this was a total robbery by Denver LUL Half of those picks were for the Von Miller trade, and he's going back there as a free agent.

Seattle gets Drew Lock EleGiggle

68style 03-08-2022 03:25 PM

Denver failed to develop like 4 top QB picks in a row… they’re in a sad state these days and had to make this trade or one like it to even survive because of their horrible drafting and development at the QB position. Elway was a great QB but he’s a terrible evaluator of talent lol…

(Broncos are my favourite team)

SkinnyPupp 03-08-2022 03:30 PM

100%, they have astoundingly failed at QB after Peyton retired. Like at an unbelievable level considering who was making the decisions.

https://broncoswire.usatoday.com/wp-...n-Manning.jpeg

Like holy shit

They got a good team now though, that's for sure. We'll see how Hackett does as head coach, he certainly was successful as an OC in Green Bay

68style 03-08-2022 03:54 PM

It really makes you appreciate how much of sports talent is just "natural"... like a lot of coaches in professional sports were marginal players in their day and they only made it to the show because of excruciating attention to detail... whereas so many guys who were phenomenal players their whole career can't explain shit all about how to do anything and don't understand why everyone just doesn't get it / see it like they do hahaha

This is funny to me, I just had a conversation with my son yesterday driving him home from his first Rugby game.

He was late to joining the team, he's new to Rugby (always been a football kid) and started practising 2 days before this first game where most everyone else had been practising for weeks. We're on the way home and he's pissed off because 3/4's of the team doesn't understand the rules or basics on how you have to move the ball as a team, he's like it's not that fucking hard most these kids are moronic.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying my son is gifted skill wise, but when it comes to learning and understanding shit he's next level. Always has been, it's why joins Lacrosse, first year Assistant captain second year captain, joins football plays QB and defensive captain, joins boxing and he's helping teach classes now, joins Rugby just gets it lol.

Now if he had the physical attributes to back up his brain he'd really be going somewhere lol.

Sounds like he'll make a great coach one day if he wants!

No criminal charges for DeShaun Watson. Though he could still be suspended based on the accusations alone. Civil cases may still take place - if they do, expect a lot of payouts.

Teams are going to go hard after him now. And a LOT of teams need a QB, including ones who just put themselves in that position, like Seattle.

He's damn good, but... gross.

Manic! 03-13-2022 03:33 PM

No surprise here. As expected, the Browns released Jarvis Landry.

Another WR is on the free agent market.

I am hoping that the Pats sign Landry.

pastarocket 03-14-2022 10:58 AM

The Steelers sign Trubisky to a two year contract. Trubisky and the Steelers backup Mason Rudolph will compete for the starting QB job.

SkinnyPupp 03-14-2022 02:45 PM

Glad Steelers weren't able to land Wilson or Watson. People have been talking up Trubisky all off season, and the Steelers bit on it. Maybe he still has potential?

SkinnyPupp 03-15-2022 07:34 PM

Cleveland Browns set up a meeting with Deshaun Watson and Baker's like "smell ya later losers!". He wants to be traded, with Indy as his top pick.

This is embarrassing, even for them.
