Dude I have NO idea... I mean you don't fake throwing for 40,000 yards and 300+ touchdowns so far in his career... but the dropoff is jaw dropping

SkinnyPupp 09-28-2023 04:53 PM

Don't want to jinx it but the Lions are teabagging the Packers at home rn and it's only been one quarter

SkinnyPupp 09-28-2023 06:03 PM

Refs trying to even things up now after the half

Man looking back on this thread, this guy had so much promise to be a Canadian superstar in the NFL. That's why I paid so much attention to him. Holy crap what a career after that amazing first few games. You should see how lazy he is now as a Bear. It's even more humiliating than celebrating a first down with the time running out and no timeouts.

I dig the Jets’ helmets. I’m bias because green is my favourite colour but I love the pearl and how they transition to black at certain angles.

Yes, I’m aware that there is nothing new or exciting about this but if I ever get around to finishing my stalled out Ruckus project, I’d look into the cost for sure.

Then I’d probably cheap out because life and kids are expensive af :okay:

SkinnyPupp 10-02-2023 03:01 AM

Jets made a game of it! Pretty impressive. Too bad they got robbed in the end by one of the most blatant late calls you'll ever see. If that was an incomplete pass, no way do they call it. Absolute bullshit.

I think about 80% of Mahomes' "magic" plays are due to the fact that his O line are immune to penalties. The amount of holding and false starts and illegal formation they get away with is egregious.

It got so bad with Jawaan Taylor that they had to start calling penalties on him, and now he's the most penalized player in the league.

Just such a shitty feeling to get robbed of a possible exciting finish with shitty ticky tack calls. When they do that it's more like Sports Entertainment than a sport. I don't even have a stake in Chiefs games or the Jets. It's just such bullshit

Some fun games today though, and holy crap a lot of awful QB play. I won't name names, but holy shit some teams need to look at replacing what they have, or some long time great coaches are going to be out of a job. Others just have to hope their guy gets healthy.

That poor dude the Browns sent out was getting destroyed by the Ravens D over and over... It was getting to where I felt bad for the guy. On the other side I was happy to see them beat the amazing Browns D. I expected maybe a 6-3 win lol

SkinnyPupp 10-02-2023 03:10 AM

Look at this shit... dude was literally slapping the guy's helmet trying to get him to let go

I almost jumped out of my seat when they threw the flag, but then it was on the defense! WutFace

mikemhg 10-02-2023 11:21 AM

^That was such a weird play I was watching that saying the same thing, seemed like obvious holding to the point where it looked like the Jets players stopped playing trying to wait for the call, it's like all their controllers got unplugged while Patrick just ran away to a 1st down.

SkinnyPupp 10-02-2023 02:20 PM

Texans got their guy

Quote:

CJ Stroud said “That aint flying for me” when asked about the lack of home wins, and said he wants Texans fans to be able to walk around in their gear with pride. When asked about the amount of Steelers fans at the game “we sent them home.”

SkinnyPupp 10-02-2023 02:21 PM

And also :considered:

SkinnyPupp 10-04-2023 01:23 AM

Catching up on the games, Colts and Texans are going to be scary for the next 5 years. Wow!

May as well give the 49ers the Superbowl now.
When you have a QB on Rookie contract then team can acquire so many STARS around him... ... ...

I think that's the Winning formula.

SkinnyPupp 10-07-2023 02:20 AM

It's only been 4 weeks, but man QBs are cooking this season.

7 quarterbacks have a completion rate over 70%

https://i.imgur.com/vZdsFsm.png

And Baker Mayfield is right up there. Goff too! Lions have been really fun to watch. Josh Dobbs has been a great story.

But I think ANY/A (adjusted yards gained per passing attempt) is better (and shows how much Russell's great season is being shit on by bad defense)

https://i.imgur.com/KAvUXVU.png

This season has been really fucking fun. Though I imagine it sucks for fans of some teams.. Vikings fans I think things have just been breaking the wrong way, after every lucky bounce going their way last year.

Observations on week 5:

1. Denver is shittier than anyone could imagine. Just blow the whole thing up, sell the farm and start new next season.
2. Bill Belichick, please retire before all the L's add up to equal all your W's. You've reached your expiry date.
3. Minnesota is snake bitten, they seem to be a better team than their record indicate 1-4.
4. Ravens ... how does your $50M QB lose to a $1M Rookie QB? This is serious too because it's a loss to a divisional team. As it stands now, Pittsburgh is #1 in the AFC North ... WTH?
5. Buffalo ... jet lag? How do you lose to Jacksonville after beating Miami convincingly? Now you're in the middle of the pack again. Inconsistency is your achilles heel. You are your own reason why KC goes to SB year after year.
6. SF, not finished yet but looking like you are the NFC gold standard. Week 12, SF vs. Philly, circle that date. Preview of NFC championship game.

Regarding #4 since you're semi-not trolling this time.. (well forgetting it's team vs team not QB vs QB) I am not exaggerating at all when I say Lamar should have had the best passing game of his life. The pocket was solid 95% of the time, they were running at will, and he was dropping PERFECT dimes. It should have been 28-0 at the half, and that's not hyperbole - wait for the tape guys to put out their videos. Could have been a 50 burger if HALF the drops weren't made.

BUT nobody could catch it. There were legit 8 drops of catchable balls. Not "go up and get it" or "NFL open" but actually perfect throws bouncing off their hands. I've never seen anything like it all in one game (Calvin Ridley had been like this for a few games, but that's just one guy). It was insane

On top of that points were left behind due to mistakes. Center snapped it to catch a guy offside on 4th down in FG territory, but the refs didn't call it (they called almost nothing on either team, it was pretty nice actually, except for this lol). On one play for a TD, Lamar made legit the worst pass I have ever seen him attempt, from decision to placement. I think he was trying to force it to OBJ

So the Steelers forced a fumble and then blocked a punt for a safety, and momentum took over from there. Protection started breaking down, great passes became misses, defense made 2 of their only 2 mistakes of the game, and they lost. It was crazy to see, but not unexpected for a divisional game. Ravens vs Steelers is always insane.

Lamar and the defense played 98% of a perfect game, then each made 2 bad mistakes, and everyone else dropped the ball all game. It was a crazy game.

It never matters who is favored in these games, something insane will almost always happen. Ravens played their 3 road division games already and went 2-1, they're fine for now.

Edit: Here's some of them if anyone wants to be aware

As for my observations:

1) Speaking of Calvin Ridley, talk about a comeback! All those drops all season, and dude was clutch for this game. Bills looked jet lagged or something, but still put up a good fight.

2) Not going to talk shit about the Pats because I know we have fans here and I respect you guys. But holy shit this is rough. Mac Jones is seeing ghosts.. Honestly might be a good idea to call up Malik Cunningham.. Dude is so different from Mac, and maybe that's what they need? Some fans might not like him though, for reasons.

3) Uh oh, Burrow is back? Shite.

4) Sorry Broncos fans, but I am so happy Jets won in Denver. That's all I'll say about that.

5) There is only one team where everything is clicking in all aspects of the game, and that's the 49ers. Everything from offense to defense, offensive ST, defensive ST. Everything is going exactly as they want it to. Brock Purdy is just a perfect QB for that system. He might not be athletic or have a strong arm, but he throws it with anticipation to the PERFECT locations. Must be nice to have receivers who can catch!

Gotta say, the Bills looked dominant at this point last season too... Just hope for their fans that they stay healthy. This coach will lead them to Super Bowl after Super Bowl if they do.

SkinnyPupp 10-09-2023 12:33 AM

(This isn't to shit on the Broncos or their fans, this is all on Payton)

SkinnyPupp 10-09-2023 03:02 AM

If you're really interested on how the Ravens "$50m" quarterback lost, check out this recap.

Timestamped but if it doesn't work, start at 11:57 (I really like this show anyway so check it out) (had to make this a separate reply because NFL doesn't allow their videos to be embedded)

whitev70r 10-09-2023 06:51 AM

OBJ not himself, maybe coming out of injurey, 1st game back ... or he's washed up.

while film tape won't disagree with the many drops ... LJ has to take some responsibility for the loss:

And they couldn't put points up on the last possession. TJ Watt went into beast mode.

Could this be the result of when LJ demands $50M salary and now team can't afford to complement with skilled players.

SkinnyPupp 10-09-2023 03:17 PM

When you say something foolish trying to get a reaction out of someone, and they don't react, all that happened is you said something foolish.

SkinnyPupp 10-09-2023 04:30 PM

Direct snap to the RB... through the QB's legs!

Yeah, my Pats are playing like shit because the offence has been asleep. What does Coach B. do? Bench Mac Jones? Belichick might consider it. Put Cunningham. Heck, the team has four QBs on its roster: Mac, Cunningham, Will Grier, and Bailey Zappe.

Jones has the same number turnovers at Gillette Stadium now than Brady has had in entire career in terms of home games. I know. It's not a fair comparison of Mac Jones vs. a GOAT QB. Having said, I expect a better performance from Mac. This ain't NCAA football anymore, kid.

That's a crazy stat lol

I watched some Louisville games last year, and Cunningham is probably not NFL ready, but he's a super exciting QB and fun to watch. Completely unlike Jones and Zappe though, so the entire offense would have to adapt to him.

I see fans wanting to put him in, because at the very least, the losses would be more fun than watching Mac Jones run around scared. No idea what happened to him; he showed promise at times.

SkinnyPupp 10-12-2023 05:27 PM

Jim Harbaugh looking brilliant right about now for turning down the Broncos job (sorry Broncos fans but I love seeing Payton get humiliated over and over all season long)

SkinnyPupp 10-12-2023 06:27 PM

If you're wondering why Jerry Jeudy hasn't been a factor it's because Steve Smith Sr murdered him before the game

SkinnyPupp 10-13-2023 07:14 PM

Deshaun Watson says he could be out several weeks with a sore shoulder. His coaches say he was cleared to play by doctors for the Ravens game, but can make the decision not to play if he feels. The rookie who played that game found out 3 hours before kickoff that he was going to be starting.

Do we think he's already done playing for the Browns? He gets that $250M+ whether he plays or not.
