I did NOT know that Carroll and Belicheck are the same age... what an example of genetics and likely diet/exercise... they don't look, move or act even remotely similar.
Bill has been my enemy since I started watching (and really Patriots bandwagoners have been kind of annoying even before that, as all bandwagoners tend to be) so it's tough to feel bad for him... But man, if he goes to another team and brings in all his same guys and stinks it up for another season, that would be so embarrassing.
He'll need to go to a team with a good roster but underperforming, like the Falcons or Saints or maybe even Bears. If he goes to a team like the Panthers or Commanders or Titoons there's a better chance that he's going to have a bad season.
The players know this guy well. The guys support him in the locker room. He's been the inside linebackers coach since 2019.
-drafted by the Pats as the tenth overall pick in the 2008 draft. Linebacker from 2008 to 2015.
The Pats defence this season has been the strength of this team.
It's their offence that is a big concern.
Bandwagoners aside, I am a lifelong Patriots fan. -doesn't matter if Brady or Belichick are not part of the team anymore. I still cheer for this team.
It's the Patriots way.
-quote from Coach Mayo:
I feel like I'm prepared. I feel like I'm ready," Mayo said in early January. "I feel like I can talk to men, women, old, young, white, Black -- it doesn't matter. And hopefully develop those people into upstanding citizens and help them evolve. That's how I think about it. I feel like my calling is to develop."
Mayo recently shared that building relationships with players is a foundational part of his coaching style.
-quotes from one of the Pats players:
He had notable support among players in the locker room, especially on defense. When news of Belichick leaving broke, one defender said in a text: "I hope they give it to Mayo. He deserves it."
Captain Deatrich Wise Jr. credited Mayo as a primary reason he felt the defense experienced success against Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen in a Week 17 loss.
Sometimes players make excellent coaches, and Mayo has been the plan to succeed BB for a long time. Like I said, it should be interesting!
I no longer see the Patriots as heels anymore - that era is completely over now. They're just another out of division rival for me, with tremendous history between our teams. I'm just glad I'm a Ravens fan and not a Jets fan
I support all your guys' teams, and hope the best for all of them. And now I don't have to feel weird about it with the Pats lol
I'm curious what happens with Mac, because he did show promise. He'd be perfect for a Shanahan team.

GF is devastated by the Rams loss, such a close game and they missed 3 chances in the redzone, was their game for the taking... performed WAY better this year than they were supposed to!
Just came back from 2 nights of backpacking, and I actually watched the Browns/Texans game while I was out there (5G coverage is amazing). And watched the other three when I got home
Browns were the "second half of the Jets game" Browns, as I thought might be possible. Only one miracle run for Joe I guess
Dolphins were exactly what I expected, no surprise there not even a little.
Dallas had an epic meltdown especially on defense
Lions held on to win it, but as mentioned this game was the Rams' to lose. 3 trips to the red zone with no touchdowns? Good defense but still. Nacua was amazing but where was Kupp?
I swear I picked the Packers to win in Dallas.. oh well
Class. Of course, this game was never about Goff vs. Stafford but their careers were decided by higher ups in 2020. Goff and the Lions deserve to experience some success.
Oh boy ... so I went 2 for 3 in AFC and 1 for 3 in NFC ... so batting .500 altogether.
Of course, the surprises were Dallas (maybe not so surprising) and Philly. Some heads will roll for these 2 upsets.
For 2nd round, I'll go with
AFC - Baltimore & KC
NFC - Det (more of a sentimental pick, TB looks pretty good!) & SF
Eagles meltdown complete. Will be interesting to see what they do next season.
They could not handle the blitz at all, what a complete collapse. That's more about scheme than the players. They'll be fine with Hurts (as long as he can stay healthy), but they need to reboot coaching completely. Kelce is almost certainly going to retire so that leaves a big gap. Then you have Fletcher Cox and Brandon Graham's contracts (and maybe careers) finishing up
Bills handled business, but Steelers are a tough team that will always be in a game. They need a QB (as do the Browns obviously)
I went 3 for 3 in AFC and 0 for 3 in NFC lol. I fucking swear I picked the Packers to beat the Cowboys, but it's right there.. Must have not been thinking when I typed it up.
Playoffs are crazy, I love it. Any team can beat any other team. A few bounces to the Steelers way, and they win that game in Buffalo. Same for the Rams. It makes it fucking scary as a fan though.
Divisional round picks
AFC:
Ravens
Bills
NFC:
49ers vs Packers I'm going to think about more this week Edit: Fuck it let's go GB!
Lions
Happy retirement, Kelce! Jason Kelce has a Superbowl ring. He has more time to work on his podcast.
Eagles are a mess. Their offensive line looks old. I wonder what the average line of their O-Line players are.
The owner Jeffrey Lurie will not be patient with this team. You can bet that some coaching changes will be made. -definitely some changes with the offensive line now that Kelce is retiring.
Bills Mafia are gonna be so pumped up for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
They need to buy more tables from Home Depot for Sunday's tailgate party haha.
