Kenny Pickett from Steelers traded to Philly ... not sure what to make of it?

1. Did Pickett asked to be moved? Didn't want to play behind Russell Wilson? But what are your chances of playing with Jalen Hurts in Philly? I mean Wilson might be a good 1-2 yr QB so the seat will be vacant eventually if you're Pickett and you mature well.
2. Or, did Pittsburgh want to move him, give up on him already? I mean you gotta think about the future, in a yr or 2 when Wilson is done.

He probably asked to be traded... Crazy!

Can't blame him for how he was treated after coming back from injury.. Lost his job to Mason Rudolph of all people lol. He never got the chance to play with the new OC

Edit here come the leaks

The craziest thing for me this season is no market for Justin Fields.

Aaron Donald retired! WOW

68style 03-15-2024 03:00 PM

RIP Rams D

Donald was hilarious, anyone remember that interview way back when they asked him about La Brea tar pits and he said it was all fake becuase dinosaurs weren't real? LOL

Actually my mistake, that was William Hayes, not AD!!

Steelers trade for QB Justin Fields from Chicago ... I guess we know who Chicago is taking with their #1 pick ... Caleb Williams.

SkinnyPupp 03-16-2024 05:58 PM

Steelers rolling the dice on super cheap QBs and doing it twice to double their odds. That's one way to do it I guess, instead of scouting or free agency.

I think Fields is way underrated, and has a super high ceiling if he can figure shit out (he turns down passes all the time and holds on way too long)

whitev70r 03-17-2024 12:30 PM

Not a huge big deal but ...

quasi 03-17-2024 03:37 PM

Bears apparently had 4 offers for Fields but Fields didn't want to go to any of those teams so the Bears tried to do him right by no moving him to those teams. I'm sure in Pitts. he see's Russ's deal like a short term thing and thinks he might have the best shot starting there vs whoever these other teams are.

SkinnyPupp 03-17-2024 04:45 PM

Smart guy. Tomlin will go with the hot hand if the starter stumbles, as he showed with benching their first round rookie for Mason Fucking Rudolph and then sending him packing for complaining.

SkinnyPupp 03-21-2024 03:01 PM

What do we think, do the Browns or the Chiefs pick him up?

This is after he choked out his girlfriend, and the police still haven't found him.

They were able to void his salary, saving $11 million

New kickoff rule is official, using the XFL version now

whitev70r 03-26-2024 08:42 AM

Oh interesting ... so kicking team cannot move until player from receiving team actually touches the ball?

quasi 03-26-2024 08:49 AM

There were some rumours yesterday that the Commanders could be looking to grab JJ McCarthy at number 2 in the draft. That may be all smoke and mirrors which does happen this time of year but if true as of this morning you could still bet JJ going as the second pick at 12:1 on Playnow where other sites like Bet365 seem to be 4.5:1.

This is the rule change in more detail. It's a great rule change IMO because it lowers the risk of concussion injuries for the player on the receiving team who touches the ball after kick off.

Player safety.

During the 2024 season, kickers will continue to kick from the 35-yard line, but the other 10 players on the kickoff team will line up at the receiving team's 40-yard line. At least nine members of the return team will line up in a "setup zone" between the 35- and 30-yard lines. Up to two returners can line up in a "landing zone" between the goal line and the 20-yard line.
No one other than the kicker and returner(s) can move until the ball hits the ground or hits a player inside the landing zone. Touchbacks will be marked at the 30-yard line, and no fair catches will be allowed. In the event a team wants to attempt an onside kick, it will have to inform officials of its intent and would then be allowed to use the NFL's traditional formation. No surprise onside kicks will be allowed

What diff do kickoff rules make in the NFL? Every kicker kicks it through the end of tje endzone on every kickoff nowadays.

Edit: It looks like the touchback rule varies depending on where the ball lands.. This is quite a bit more complicated, but it all makes sense. Also there's no more fair catch allowed on kickoffs.

You definitely do not want to blast it out of the endzone. Most kickers will want it to land as close to the 1 yard line as possible and force an old school 20 yard touchback.

The XFL had a kickoff return rate of 97% with these rules; the NFL's was only 22% last year.

This is a shitty graphic with a ton of stupid mistakes, but the rules themselves are correct

Funny I couldn't log into playnow when I read this from you because of their stupid location BS on their app, but when I got home on my laptop I checked and they had completely removed being able to bet on the 2nd overall pick hahaha assholes.

Was gonna put all the free bet money I had accumulated on it :D

Did Diggs want out? Did he see the decline of the Bills and the up take potential of the Texans?

68style 04-03-2024 08:57 AM

Didn't Diggs fuck up several important plays when it counted? Dropped balls? I might be remembering wrong, so apologies to him if that's the case.

Diggs' level of play during this past season has shown a drop in production compared to previous seasons.

This trade is a big reshuffle for the Bills:

The Bills parted ways with several key players amid a salary-cap crunch this offseason, and its receiving corps also saw a makeover with Gabe Davis leaving and Curtis Samuel arriving. Now, however, the Bills would appear to be in need of a new No. 1 receiver for Josh Allen. The Bills are set to select at No. 28 in the first round of the NFL draft, which features a deep group of receiver prospects.

Bills are gonna draft a rookie wide receiver in the upcoming draft. They need a new no. 1 receiver for Allen.

Bender Unit 04-03-2024 10:23 AM

Texan is the new Bills

WIN now with CJ Stroud.

Just like Bills 2 years back.
Untill they all meet Playoff Mahomes

mikemhg 04-03-2024 01:16 PM

Texans offence is fucking stacked.

What a crazy quick turnaround this team has had.

SkinnyPupp 04-03-2024 01:49 PM

Bills spent all that time clearing cap space and now they have $44 million in dead money. And they got less than a 2nd round pick. This is definitely not something they really wanted to do, but got tired of him. The clues were there, going back iirc 2 seasons.
