Really stupid play calling by the Bucs trying to rack up garbage time points in a game that is literally impossible to win, since they are no longer allowed to onside kick.

What they should have done instead of using their second onside kick was a normal kickoff and hope for a muffed catch or a turnover by the offense. THEN they need to score THEN try the second onside kick.

But they kept going instead of kneeling out, and now Chris Godwin broke his leg and will be out for the rest of the season. Evans didn't look good either when he hurt his already hurt hamstring. Hopefully it wasn't a tear.

Good game aside from the 4th. I hope Marlo's knee is ok. All those garbage time points make it look closer than it was.. I thought Lamar was way too casual on that backwards pass. If that doesn't happen, none of the 4th quarter play happens lol

Apparently the 2 onside kick rule isn't a thing, even though they explained it was during the Cowboys/Ravens game.

I feel really bad for Chris Godwin. The game was over in the third, but they had to save face and score a bunch of garbage time against a defense that was just trying not to get hurt. Ed Reed called them out for not playing the full 60 minutes

NHL: We barely have enough cap space to afford a first rate first line, 2 decent D and a goalie

NFL: Got Mahomes, Thuney, Taylor, Kelce and Reid all well over $14M a year and still have $15M cap space... why not just grab Hopkins too...

What even is a salary cap? lol

I think the reason is the Titans are still the team that is paying him

Surely he'll be as good as he can possibly be with Mahomes throwing to him, but he hasn't been "that guy" since 2020.

This just makes me more pissed off that the Titans owner vetoed the Henry trade to the Ravens last year. I'm 100% sure that he would have made a difference in the AFC championship game 1 TD loss. Presumably they'd at least run the ball more with him there

Rams get Puka and Coopa back, and as soon as they do they look top tier immediately. Vikings had a great start, but started running into some really sloppy play with dumb penalties setting them back. I thought Darnold still looked good (aside from that one really bad sack) but not good enough to overcome the penalties. Looks like they locked JJ down too eventually.

Never give up on a team that has Matthew Stafford!

Nah if I was a betting man I would have bet on the Browns. Jameis makes the team better, Ravens down CB1 and CB2, and with AFCN games the favourite should have like 55% to win at most. I don't care if it's a 5 win streak team vs 5 lose streak. I didn't even watch the game, just the last 20 minutes

Hamilton had it though. Jameis passed it right to him for the win, but if he could catch he'd be a WR not a Safety.

Caleb vs Jayden (most zoomer names ever) took 3.5 quarters to get there but they delivered an even more insane finish!

With Watson out and Winston in ... I like the team a notch better. But I still think the owner and GM should still reap the consequences of the stupid signing of Watson.

Congrats to pastarocket, NE > Jets ... the Jets are officially shitty and wasted this season. Devante Adams or not.

-glad to see my Pats beat the No Fly Zone Jets. -don't wanna see my team in the bottom of the cellar of the NFL. It can get down there in the cellar during the winter.

Ravens get Diontae Johnson from the Panthers. Ravens will pay $625K of his salary and Panthers pay the rest. The trade was Ravens 5th round for Johnson and their 6th round.

Not sure they needed a WR more than a S or EDGE but I guess the idea is to put up 50 per game and win that way

Jets had some bone-headed play but some spectacular ones ... got to give them kudos where it's due. They got a W from Houston. Let's hope it's one off and none of this, 'Jets has finally got it turned around".

Rookie Corley drops ball 1 yd from end zone, celebrating too early. Tier C College football stuff.

Garrett Wilson highlight reel catch of this NFL season so far (prob)

Anything interesting in Week 8?

- Buffalo over Miami was a wild one, kicker makes a >60 yd FG to win it.
- Bye Dallas, your season is pretty well over at 3-5.
- NO fires coach.
- good MNF game going on as I type. Cheering on TB to take down the Swifties.

Update - damn Chiefs.

Chiefs game was inevitable as soon as Nuk caught that prayer ball in the first half. Absolute robbery. Bucs not going for 2 to win the game is an all time stupid decision, and they should stuff the coach in one of those cannons after the season and launch him into the sun.

Do you take a ~55% chance to win the game on one play at the end of a successful drive that has their defense gassed...

OR

Do you try to win a coin flip AND drive the ball another 70 yards AND score a TD. OR if you lose the coin flip, good luck stopping the Chiefs in overtime. But even if you do, you STILL have to get that scoring drive.

Woke up last night at 2:30am, then I realized hey, thanks to the time change, Ravens/Broncos will still be in the first quarter! So I got up and spent the morning watching live. Needless to say, it was an awesome game. It's a privilege to be able to watch when your team is rolling, and you never know how it will end, so I try to enjoy it as much as I can while things are good.

Still annoys me that Derrick/Lamar could have been happening last year if that shithole team didn't veto the trade for no good reason. Wow he got a "moment" playing out a shitty season on the shitty team he's been with. That's so much better than a chance at winning the Super Bowl.

Anyway

I caught the end of Patriots/Titoons and it was wild. Pats have a guy to build around, the Titoons do not and are a joke of a franchise. One will go up starting next season, the other will continue to languish in the dumpster pile.

Bryce Young played maybe his best game. Dude throws with insane anticipation and good accuracy. I can see the Rams being interested in him as Stafford's replacement whenever he decides to retire. I'd bring him in asap if I were them.

Packers/Lions was disappointing, but Seahawks/Rams more than made up for it with an insane game (like a good divisional game should be).

Colts vs Vikings was whatever.

Why did the league schedule the trade deadline as the same day as the U.S. elections??

Most media outlets would spend most of if not all their time to cover U.S. politics today.

I mean, NFL players, coaches, anyone working for the NFL, and NFL fans would be busy on election day with voting today or watching media coverage of the election. Who's going to pay that much attention to the NFL trade deadline transactions?

It's not that the date of the election was announced recently. League officials would have known long ago that scheduling the trade deadline day for today would also be the same day of the election.

Derick Henry might get 2000 yards this season, what a crazy run he's having.

Ravens are so fun to watch right now.

NFL trade deadline kind of stinks anyway. Only one day 1 draft pick was moved. I was hoping to get Lattimore, but too many teams wanted him, driving the price way up. 3rd, 4th, 6th, for a rental and a 5th is too much. Good for the Commandos if they re-sign him.

Ravens did get CB Tre'Davious White from the Rams, and 7th round year swaps. Great DB at one time, but based on his stats he looks to be washed, but who knows.

Should be a good game tonight between Bengals and Ravens, always a high scoring offensive show. Although the discrepancy this year between the two seems to be quite big .. let's see how things pan out. Last possession wins?

Great game, did not disappoint in terms of excitement level. Both teams with very efficient offenses. Sure a couple of bad calls here and there but it all levels out in the end. Case could be made for defensive holding on the 2 pt conversion attempt. But mad respect for going for the 2 pts to win vs. 1 pt kick to tie. Paying fans got their money's worth.

Fucking insane game, I am sweating.

I am sad the refs made themselves such a big part of the game, especially on the final play of the game since that's all anyone will remember. Ravens got absolutely jobbed on the first TD, but then benefited from no call on the final one. There were many other bad calls and non calls, like the fake ineligible down field on a center who was blocking someone.

Whatever. It evened out and the better team won. The Football Gods made sure we saw justice today

Bengals have a very soft schedule aside from the Chargers and Steelers, so they can absolutely still make it.

BTW: #MV3

For this week:

Would be cool to see Dallas Cowboys and NY Jets play one game after regular season, winner gets the toilet bowl. Nothing makes me more happier to see Jets & Dallas keep on losing.

KC pulls the horseshoe out of their ass again to stay undefeated. Denver, good effort.

SF vs. TB ... both teams had to win, SF eeks out the W. Both teams playing below their expectations. TB seems better than their record. Woe, calm down there Dweebo. Yah, he missed 3 FG's but still ... in the locker room, not on the sideline.

Russell Wilson is a pleasant surprise in Pittsburgh. Maturity and experience coming through in a tight game. Mike Williams get traded from NYJ to Steelers and catches the winning TD. Steelers stay on top of the AFC North by smoke and mirrors.
