Burrow fucking rules what are you talking about lol

I'd put him above Allen and Mahomes this year

No QB is perfect, even the best ones. Especially since it's a team sport, and receivers can do things like run bad routes, drop catches. O line can have bad days of protection, RB can miss assignments on blitzes, etc

I blame coaching more than Sam, because you know what you got with Darnold. He's in the same category as Goff, Geno, and Purdy, where if they are protected, they can deliver an accurate ball on time, but if you can get pressure on them, their quality drops dramatically. They are not play extenders, they are not play creators (though Geno and Purdy are a bit better than the first two at this). They're in the tier below Burrow/Mahomes/Allen/And some other QB I can't mention without getting attacked by weird fans.

I still give Darnold a bit more blame, he missed some key throws early that really set the tone for the game and cost them points, throws he was making all year long, it was pretty clear he was rattled. That said, KOC isn't off the hook at all, he should have adjusted his play calling to what Detroit was doing on Defense and it didn't feel like he did that.

JJ and Hockenson also had some drops, lots of blame to go around on the offensive side of the ball. If they play like this next Monday it will be one and done.

Yeah when JJ is dropping it, you know things just aren't going your way

I guess my main point is, I saw some people quickly jumping to "Darnold is a fraud" because of one loss. That isn't the case at all. Darnold is a very good QB in a brilliant offensive system. But there will be times where the opponent game plans against them perfectly. That does not erase all his accomplishments until then.

That is another one of those dumb fan things so many people do without thinking.

Let's see

Chargers 35 - Texans 9

Texans are cooked, sorry

Steelers 17 - Ravens 20

This will be an annoyingly tight game with a lot of bad looking offense on both sides, but eventually King Henry will break through with some 4th quarter scoring. Lamar haters will feast but it won't matter.

Broncos 10 - Bills 24

The Broncos are going to be handled by the better team unfortunately.

Packers 24 - Eagles 14

The first big upset of the playoffs. Packers are able to contain Saquon with a stacked box as Jalen is a huge question mark coming back from a concussion

Comandos 44 - Buccaneers 38

Another upset, and a crazy high scoring game that ends in overtime

Vikings 27 - Rams 24

Tough defensive game, but Darnold and Jets have a few splash plays while Stafford struggles at first.

68style 01-09-2025 05:50 PM

Wonder if the Rams game is going to happen with the fires?

Also why so much hate for my horsies?

Led the NFL with 63 sacks this year, coming for you all day Joshie!!!

They moved the Vikings/Rams game to Arizona

Rams season ticket holders get a 2 hour advance on tickets

I have no hate for the Broncos, I just look at their record against good teams, and they only have 1 win vs starters when playing teams over .500. 7 losses, and that win vs the Chiefs backups

Not that this automatically means they'll lose, but it would be a prediction that they would lose to another team that is over .500.

BTW out of all the good teams, I think the Bills are the most untested, so not many would predict an upset so it would come out of nowhere. Only the Bills and Texans have played against 6 teams over .500. The Bills are 3-3 against those teams. 2 of those wins are the Lions and Chiefs though, so they have beat the best in each conference.

More bad news for the Browns.

Deshaun Watson ruptured his Achilles again.

-could miss the entire next season.

^ you mean good news for the Browns ... :fullofwin:

They won't have to play his ass ! Hopefully, they can find a loophole to get out of that shitty contract. Claim insurance on career ending injury?

mikemhg 01-10-2025 10:10 AM

Womp womp :lol

He should just retire and sit on that $200 mil.

68style 01-10-2025 02:49 PM

Haha Browns deserve everything they get and then some... so does Watson

Von Miller talking a lot about the matchup, dude's so old now he needs a prescription to get up for this game. Bo Nix still learning on the job and getting steadily better each week, got his first last minute game tying drive in CIN and then a confidence builder stat padding start against KC... here comes his first big upset win!!! Allen's early season colours are going to show again why he's not the real MVP no matter what the media tries to say.

whitev70r 01-10-2025 03:26 PM

I have to believe that the Bills will get past Denver, if not, they are the most cursed franchise in NFL. They will need to blow it up, including coach. It will be a close game and Bills may have to play from behind but they will win with 0.09 seconds on the clock ... I think.

SkinnyPupp 01-10-2025 03:45 PM

Herbert played awful today against the Texans.

Four interceptions hahaha.

I wonder how much of an impact the LA Wildfires had on the mental preparation for Herbert and his team mates.

Still buzzing from this morning!

Woke up to catch the Texans vs Chargers game, thinking it would be pretty easy for the road team to win. The Texans have done nothing on offense for I don't even know how long.

Chargers were dominant in the first quarter and a bit, but Texans defense were doing just enough to keep them in it. Many football fans know this feeling (as a Ravens fan I can tell you I have felt it many times). And sure enough, everything fell apart for the Chargers. Stroud made some INSANE plays, and they just shat on them for 3 quarters. Hell of a game and hell of an upset!

People will of course be quick to call Herbert a bust, after going 0-2 in the playoffs. I can see it already. Well it's a small sample size of 8 quarters. Out of those 8 quarters, he played 3 good to great, and 5 poor. Is that a bust? He's no Mahomes or Brady, I can say that. Let's give it another shot with some tools on the perimeter beyond a guy who looks like a child.

And then I got to watch the Ravens smash the Steelers for 3 quarters of a game, 2 of which were pure dominance (300 yards vs 60). Quarters 3 and 4 were played totally conservatively in clock killing mode, keeping half their playbook under wraps. Steelers always seem to have an insane 3rd quarter, and this was no different. Russ launching that insane moon ball, catching them with 2 scores. Still not enough

Lamar took a hard knee to the back pretty early in the game, and it was affecting his throwing ability. I hope he can recover from that by next week.

Other than that, I feel great! Amazing play by the O line, rookie RT keeping TJ Watt to zero stats (no sacks, no tackles, nothing). I did get annoyed by them running it into a stacked box to kill the clock in the 3rd and 4th quarters, but they were able to convert most of their third downs. Enough to kill the clock, but not run up the score. Eventually they played some zone read again, so it's like Monken read my mind! They were able to finish the game kneeling out because of this.

Steelers fans are having a complete meltdown, finally turning on coach Tomlin. They want him GONE. As a Ravens fan let me say: Yes please! He is winless in the playoffs in so many years, but who were his quarterbacks? Ben Roethlisberger's zombified body, Mason Rudolph, Duck Hodges, Mitch Trubisky, Kenny Pickett, Justin Fields, and Russell Wilson. Come on. No other coach would get this shit team into the playoffs, trust me.

68style 01-12-2025 09:27 AM

Nix playing very smart, looks like a 10 year vet out there not a rookie

mikemhg 01-12-2025 09:31 AM

I'm a Seahawks guy since I was a kid SkinnyPupp, but they're going through a rebuild the last few years, so not much to cheer for there.

On the other hand I've been cheering for the Ravens for years now because of Lamar, the man is a phenom to watch, so bloody talented as a player, fun to watch, it's hard not to cheer for him. I'm really hoping the Ravens make their way to the Superbowl this year. My other team the last few years has been the Lions as well, they've sucked for so long, so you gotta cheer for an underdog organization like them, they're like the Canucks of the NFL :lol

Celebrate today man, Ravens played fantastic last night, and god damn Henry killed it last night, that stiff-arm on Fitzpatrick was a thing of beauty.

68style 01-12-2025 09:51 AM

fucking fake punt in 2nd quarter of a 10-7 playoff game!!! The balls!!!!

SkinnyPupp 01-12-2025 10:29 AM

Converting on a fake punt, then having a successful 1 minute drive into field goal range, and getting 0 points from it... that is brutal man. Broncos are doing what they can to overcome the deficiencies but not finishing up on it.

68style 01-12-2025 10:46 AM

Yah Romo is right, they can’t afford to miss any opportunity and they have been

SkinnyPupp 01-12-2025 10:46 AM

2 really bad drops now as well

68style 01-12-2025 10:54 AM

Ooooof that guy is dead Jones needs to go low on that

SkinnyPupp 01-12-2025 11:10 AM

That was QB's fault more than anything. Hospital pass causing the receiver to lay out for it, exposing him so any hit is to the head.

The last Bills TD was a back breaker. From nearly stopping them on 4th down to a questionable TD by millimeters...

Broncos play calling is bizarre down 2 scores. Run, run, pass, punt. Give it to Bo and set him free.. live or die by the rookie in the moment. You're going to lose on runs anyway.
