Dude I watch all games on Gamepass! As long as I avoid spoilers it's as good as watching it live!

And what a game! I had goosebumps several times including Cam's amazing run and the end zone interception at the end. Panthers are legit!

bballguy 11-18-2013 07:59 PM

For sure. They will make playoffs.

pastarocket 11-18-2013 08:36 PM

The better team won tonight. Newton played better than Brady. Panthers defence stepped up during the Patriots' final drive to hit Brady to the turf.
-hurts to see my Patriots lose. -gotta give credit to the Panthers for the win.

However, I gotta say that the refs blew the call on the last play.

That was pass interference! The Panthers linebacker had both arms wrapped around Gronkowski. Brady had a legitimate complaint to the refs about the non call. :swear:

I saw the last play and the replay twice. -Regardless of what the football analyst says in the video link below, the refs made the wrong call.

How do you threw a flag in the end zone and then say there was "no foul?" Bullshit!

Newton's clutch pass to McGinn, his ability to run the ball, and Panthers' defence stepping up their game was the difference.

http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-videos/0ap2000000284392/Brady-has-words-with-refs-after-throwing-interception-to-end-game

SkinnyPupp 11-18-2013 08:46 PM

The pass was intercepted which is why there was no foul - it was an uncatchable ball. If it wasn't intercepted the foul would have been confirmed

The refs throw a foul when they see it, but other things can happen that can negate the foul

The other PI they had may have been close to being turned back too IMO

pastarocket 11-18-2013 09:04 PM

-saw the replay of the last pass. Brady is at fault in the last play in that his pass was underthrown. Hence, the Panthers player had a better chance to make that interception. Newton outplayed Brady today.

-hoping that the Pats' secondary gets healthier soon. Their defence also misses Wilfork.

bballguy 11-18-2013 09:09 PM

.....okay......? So now you agree that it was the right call?

pastarocket 11-18-2013 09:23 PM

Yeah, the refs made the right call. Like I said, the Panthers were the better team today. The outcome of the game was not decided by the non-call. Cam Newton and his team mates played better.

-still quite a bit of football to be played this season. The Patriots will get better.
I ain't got no worries.

I'm a pretty new fan but I already know why people complain about Patriots fans all the time :troll:

pastarocket 11-18-2013 09:34 PM

Haha, dang right, SkinnyPupp. I'll admit it. Some Patriots fans are sore losers. I can be one of them.
I did give credit to Newton and his teammates for their play tonight.
They played better than my team tonight.

Let's see how these cats play against the Dolphins and the other Cam, Mr. Wake.

I started watching it again at the perfect time when the NHL was locked out and Russell Wilson just broke into the league with the seahawks :fuckyea:

bballguy 11-18-2013 10:22 PM

I'm so thankful the NHL locked out...blessing in disguise. - NBA and NHL is honestly shit compared to the NFL...82 games per season makes individual games so meaningless, like who gives a shit if the Wizards beat the Heat? doesn't mean shit.....However if the Seahawks lose to the Bucs....that could have a HUGE effect on how things get played out.

and don't even get me started on how awesome Fantasy Football is...

100% agree with you, the lockout is the reason I started watching in the first place. When I watch a game, it has my full attention the entire time. Now when I watch NHL I just leave it running in the background usually

Terrible call, way to ruin a terrific game on a terrible call. That ball was catchable if there was no holding, gronk didnt even get a chance to make a play because he was held. The ball was underthrown, but we could have dropped low to catch it if he wasnt being held and pushed towards the back of the endzone. I'm kinda unbiased to both teams and I even have an old school Dan morgan panthers jerseys, and even I think that was a terrible call.

As fans of football, we got cheated out of seeing a great ending to a great game. With one last play at the 1 yard line. one of the best offenses vs one of the top defenses. one final play to win the game. even jon gruden said it should have been a penalty. I play flag football every week during the fall, and to me, that's a penalty.

whats more stupid was if you watch the replay - the ref that threw the flag was in perfect view and saw the penalty, and threw the flag. then another ref that wasnt even facing the same direction, didnt see the hold, came in and said - not catchable.

refs blew this one.

bballguy 11-18-2013 10:33 PM

I beg to differ. I don't think Gronk had any chance to get between the ball and the dude who intercepted it.

he was in the vicinity, it's hard to make any adjustments when a linebacker is holding you and leading you towards the back of the endzone. i've seen pass interference calls where the ball is much further away from the Receivers. Plus the not catchable calls are called on balls that are clearly no where near the receivers or going out of bounds. even te former referee and VP of Officiating Mike Pereira who does officiating analysis said it should have been a penalty.

plus i really thought the refs would at least make this call after the horrible 3rd down interference/holding call on the panthers last touchdown drive where the Panthers TE grabbed and wrapped his arms around the patriots receiver and flung his other arm in the air for the worst acting job ever, and the patriots corner (i think it was McCourty). you can watch the replay clearly on NFL.com - where they even said it was a terrible call, see where the panthers arms are and how the offense player is actually locking his arms around the corner.

i dont know. bad decision. terrible way to ruin an epic game that could have been talked about for all the right reasons instead it will be all about the bad call.
