lol so? That means he draws attention just being on the field....You can say the same thing about any good receiver...

Mike Oxbig 01-16-2014 11:48 PM

the saints were out looking to destroy him last game which they did...

bballguy 01-16-2014 11:55 PM

I'm still not understanding your point....so as long as teams are looking to take out your impact player, you shouldn't play him? What good is Harvin, or any other top receiver then? Let's just trade him for some other mediocre receiver....

Mike Oxbig 01-16-2014 11:56 PM

He has a concussion right now, forcing him to play will make him one hit away before concussed for another season.

bballguy 01-17-2014 12:02 AM

You can't FORCE him to play....There's proper concussion protocols now....Tests are done, and he needs to be medically cleared to play....

Every concussion is different...Sometimes you can be good to go in a couple days, sometimes it can take months before you fully recover.

Moreover, "once a team doctor signs off on a player's return, the player is evaluated in person by an unaffiliated concussion expert physician approved by both the NFL and NFL Players Association. This unaffiliated expert also must sign off on the player's health before he is allowed to return to play."

Here you go mate:

Spoiler!

so yeah, there not just going to throw him out there if he's still fucked...

SkinnyPupp 01-17-2014 12:05 AM

He looked so out of it after the first hit, I am quite amazed that he came back at all in that game. The second one just put him out and I would be even more shocked if he was cleared to play again

:okay:

bballguy 01-17-2014 12:14 AM

Yeah, I'm not banking on it.....which really fucking sucks, because he doesn't even have to do anything to make a HUUUUGE difference on the field.....just him standing around demands an incredible amount of attention from the opposition's defense.

2 more sleeps till the big game. Where are y'all watching it?

Harvin ruled out......sigh......

Vegas odds have SF @ SEA a lot tighter than I thought.

Only a 3.5 point spread and about 39 total points.

I think that line will drop to 3 or maybe even 2.5 with Harvin out.
Broncos/Pats line opened at 7 on Sunday and right now it dropped to 5 with Harris Bronco's best CB out for the season. And most of the public backing the Pats/49ers is another factor that dropped the line.

SkinnyPupp 01-17-2014 10:37 PM

Champ Bailey is going to get lit up if Brady decides to throw. He got raped by Flacco last year

Their run game with Blount/Ridley has been on for the past couple of weeks, it's also the best way to chew up clock and keep the ball away from Manning if they convert first downs.

I got a feeling whoever wins between Pats/Broncos is gonna blow out the NFC winner in the SuperBowl. Hawks and 49ers is gonna be a blood bath hopefully whoever makes it out will be relatively healthy.

SkinnyPupp 01-17-2014 11:28 PM

Yeah that's what I was thinking, but with Bailey out there it's going to be a tempting to throw at him :)

Likewise for the Manning, other than Talib who is average in my opinion at best, the Pats secondary is weak. The weather in Denver is apparently gonna be mild, little to no wind about 10 degrees C, which could mean a shootout.

? no way. he's a free agent after and he's going to make a killing this off-season.

Talib covers the number one WR and tight ends and literally shuts down the other teams best offensive player most games.

There's a general consensus on how you can evaluate a good corner and that's how the defensive coach plays him.

If you're good, ie. richard sherman, peterson, revis (before he got injured), you don't get any safety help and they put you all alone with the other teams best receiver. Talib plays man coverage with no safety help all the time.

go watch the patriots/ saints game. chris colinsworth basically says he thinks Talib is one of the best corners in the league, he was assigned to play jimmy graham all game and I believe he held jimmy graham to no catches in that game.

plus I think he was on All-Pro 2nd team this year, a recognition that's not a popularity contest that's voted by fans like the pro-bowl.

after reading some of the posts in this thread, im kinda shocked at the amount of misinformation and horrible info spewed out regarding football.

average at best? Now I remember why I don't frequent the revscene nfl thread for a reason.

PS I played DB in highschool so I pay close attention to my corners.

bballguy 01-18-2014 09:02 PM

Yeah, there's no question that Talib is a top CB in the league...

bballguy 01-19-2014 01:47 AM

Guys, I'm scared...

ForbiddenX 01-19-2014 09:50 AM

Pretty nervous too but it's going to be one hell of a game. Go Seahawks!

zx7rrrr 01-19-2014 10:00 AM

gonna be a great game today ! Go niners!!!!!!

I think Golden tate will be the x-factor for the hawks . They usually win when he puts up good numbers. If the nineers can shut him down they have a good chance to win.

Vern davis is gon a big day.

21-17 niners over hawks

Post your predictions

Mike Oxbig 01-19-2014 11:15 AM

Lynch to power through 9ers D

Broncos were the better team today. Manning was just too good with his passing. My Patriots are out. :fuuuuu:

Seahawks vs. 49ers. :awwyeah:

bballguy 01-19-2014 02:38 PM

Pats sucked. That game was horrible.

Bender Unit 01-19-2014 02:44 PM

Great start, Seahawks :troll:
