Browns and several sources have since confirmed Niners and Browns had talks about a trade for Harbaugh. "Combustible", pretty much another way of saying unhinged, whining and trantrum throwing haha.

Jim Harbaugh viewed as a “combustible commodity”

Posted by Darin Gantt on February 22, 2014, 1:31 PM EST

While the 49ers and coach Jim Harbaugh have denied that there was a deal in place for him to go to Cleveland, the reality is that he and the team are involved in a complicated relationship.

And that didn’t just develop recently.

As reactions come in to Mike Florio’s report yesterday that a trade was agreed to with the Browns before Harbaugh decided to stay, more evidence is coming to light of the delicate balance the 49ers are trying to maintain.

In a lengthy and detailed look at the background between the team and the coach, Tim Kawakami of the San Jose Mercury News paints a picture of Harbaugh as high-maintenance.

Harbaugh is described as “a combustible commodity who has 49ers HQ very unsettled most days and now he’s coming up on a contract extension that he really thought he deserved last year, so things are a little pent-up between coach and management.”

Kawakami paints a picture of the internal push-pull between General Manager Trent Baalke and Harbaugh, one which includes some drama but a good result for the organization.

The wins have come, but it seems that Harbaugh’s high-strung personality has worn some people out as well.

Any collection of high-achievers who are driven to win will inevitably create an atmosphere that includes some tension. But it seems that within the 49ers organization, that tension has built to a point that a future without Harbaugh has been considered.

And perhaps welcomed.

You can trade for coaches? :seriously:

Yup, Jon Gruden was traded from Raiders to Tampa for two 1st round picks, two 2nd round picks and $8 million.

Skinny, thoughts about what your Ravens or NFL will do with Rice? Video really didn't look good with him dragging his unconscious finance out of the elevator. SI is reporting the video from inside the elevator the police have show Rice upper cutting her.

SkinnyPupp 02-23-2014 08:00 PM

Yes, I saw the video, and I saw the police report. It's pretty bad but we have to wait and see what happened to know for sure.

What I did notice is that during his struggles last season, he lost his temper a few times. He got a few unsportsmanlike penalties, but you kind of expect that sometimes when a player is 'on the edge'. However now I wonder if it was an indication of an underlying issue

If he uppercutted his fiance and knocked her out, I hope they fire him. Because fuck that. Even if he does a lot for the community (and he absolutely does) I don't see how anyone can support a guy like that. He is a huge part of the anti-bullying movement, but spousal abuse is a pretty big issue too!

bballguy 02-24-2014 01:48 PM

Rice will almost definitely be suspended....That said, I think the team will stand behind him and he'll have a comeback year.

Didn't think that would be possible! I am happy

Pats lose Talib, get Revis...so I guess they get slightly better....

Talib to Denver.

SkinnyPupp 03-12-2014 07:34 PM

Also for the Seahawks fans: Golden Tate to Detroit, Red Bryant to Jags, and DE Michael Bennet to Seattle

bballguy 03-12-2014 07:36 PM

lol Lions overpaid for Tate...

7seven 03-12-2014 08:27 PM

Tate has flashes of brilliance but is way too inconsistent to be counted on, personally I'd rather the Seahawks extend Baldwin and look at WR and OL in the draft. There are a number of interesting WR that could fall late into round 1 and maybe round 2, Evans, Odell-Beckham, Marquis Lee, Kelvin Benjamin, Cooks.

Bryant and Clemons were necessary casualties to resign Bennett, so I'm ok with that. Seahawks and Jared Allen are kicking the tires, he would be a good fit on a short term deal.

Can't believe the Jets gave all that money to Decker, he's a very average slot receiver, Peyton inflated his numbers big time. He's in for a disaster with Geno Smith at the helm in NY.

I like what Denver has done getting Ware and Ward to shore up that D. Talib is an improvement too but to me he is a ticking time bomb with legal issues and pot is legal in Colorado, so that should be trouble for him.

bballguy 03-13-2014 11:23 AM

Sproles traded to Philly....LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles in Philly's backfield....That team is pretty damn fantasy friendly lol....

Lol, he's a POS....

bballguy 03-14-2014 04:21 PM

He signed with them....3-year, $11-mill...dude is 35, and isn't anything like what he used to be...That said, he still has great hands and Ravens sorely need some better options so not a bad signing....

That said, he's still a POS....which is why the Panthers got rid of him...he was a "distraction" in the locker room, but sure, fail me...

SkinnyPupp 03-14-2014 04:30 PM

Still crying about fails? :lawl:

Really though I get it. You don't like players with attitude. For me, it can fit into a team's chemistry and become a weapon in itself. The Panthers don't have the type of leadership the Ravens have either, or the same tight knit team mentality that Ray Lewis built before he left. I think he'll be fine.

Jared Allen signs with Seahawks, woot!

So it's Jared Allen as a Seahawk, per Ed Werder, and Devin Hester as a Falcon. Quite a non-hoops afternoon.

Apparently not now :( Weighing his options and will make a decision over the weekend...

bballguy 03-20-2014 06:49 PM

He's expected to sign with Seahawks "barring unforseen issues"....That's how it was this morning too.

Panthers, Raiders, Jets looking to get D-Jax....would be cool if Jets get Vick and DJax.
