Talk about getting rid of hot air. -accusations about deflated footballs used during the AFC championship.

Seriously? -wondering who brought the issue forward so that it becomes an investigation.

Belichick: Pats will cooperate with NFL investigation - NFL.com

Because everyone things in order for the Pats to win they have to cheat every game... What a joke, they were running the ball a lot like come on now

SkinnyPupp 01-19-2015 04:02 PM

Bellichick would do literally everything it takes to win, usually barely within the rules (and often outside the rules). I wouldn't put it past them at all to sneak in some deflated balls.

You are still bitter about the Ravens loss aint you?

SkinnyPupp 01-19-2015 04:47 PM

No! That game was amazing! It could have gone either way. Brady was on fire, and using tricky and confusing plays, they deserved to win. I'm just saying the Pats play on the edge of the rulebook, and it wouldn't surprise me if they were cheating like that. I don't think they did cheat, but it wouldn't surprise me.

I'd agree, if anyone was going to skirt the rules it would be the Hoodie. I like the matchup this year for the Superbowl, hopefully it's a good game I don't care who wins.

Thats one great thing I like about him, he keeps teams guessing and being a fan it gives me a laugh when other teams get so pissed over. If I wasn't a fan I would be in the same boat as you but he's one hell of a coach thats for sure

punkwax 01-19-2015 05:22 PM

I know I'm a little late to the party but holy hell what an insane game yesterday. I was at a pub watching, great atmosphere, the whole place went berserk!

My friend has the playnow app on his phone and we were placing bets. I told him to throw $10 on the Seahawks to make the comeback when there was around 7 mins left in the game. He refused to let me do it saying there was no chance I'd win.... heard this morning that some odds makers were offering 300:1 odds. No idea what playnow was offering but I've been giving him shit all day haha :fuuuuu:

Still haven't figured out how a flat ball is supposed to benefit one team and not the other. :suspicious:

TBH Harbaugh had every right to be pissed at the refs (not the other team) when they declared a guy ineligible. They didn't give the defense enough of a notification at all... He just quickly mentioned it to Suggs and the ball was snapped immediately. That was fucking bullshit, and I don't think you could argue against that. It's just one of those things where Belichick knows the refs aren't going to go by the book and give the defense enough time to react. That, and Brady knows if he snaps it right away, the refs will let them.

Like I said, they play right on the edge of the rulebook, and that's what gave them the edge in that game. They basically "cheated" by being able to pass to an uncovered guy, because who the hell covers a lineman?

Each team has their own set of balls, scrubbed to the liking of the QB. There is a third set only used on kickoffs. That's why there was a delay on one play - they were about to snap a kicking ball

SkinnyPupp 01-20-2015 08:45 PM

Turns out the refs were notified after the Colts intercepted a pass... It's not like the cheating helped them (Brady was pretty bad actually) but it's still cheating.

Deflated ball = smaller ball = easier to grip?

Expecting 25-50k fine on the Patriots then all the hype for the SUPER BOWL will sweep this issue.

Yup most QBs will push the limits as low as possible to make the ball grippier, especially in weather. Aaron Rodgers is the only guy I know of who likes overinflated footballs, and will actually try to have them overinflated by a bit.

Eff-1 01-20-2015 11:29 PM

I was at the SEA GB game. What a memory. I look forward to telling my grandchildren about it one day.

punkwax 01-21-2015 12:39 AM

An under inflated ball is also easier to catch. Think of an over inflated basketball bouncing off the rim. A softer ball lands softer. In this case, into a receiver's hands.

pastarocket 01-21-2015 06:05 AM

Seriously? The Patriots are laughing at this deflated balls controversy. Their preparation for the Super Bowl is business as usual. The worst punishment that the league can impose on the Pats is taking away draft picks.

Gronkowski is having fun with his tweets about the deflated balls:

@RobGronkowski: Whoops lol http://twitter.com/RobGronkowski/sta...photo/1”

Gumby 01-21-2015 10:48 AM

Assuming the refs handle the ball, how come they didn't notice the balls were wonky?

The most entertaining sports matches are the ones where you enjoy the sport, and don't have a personal interest in any team. Much less stressful! :)

So true, that's why I hate the Super Bowl this year since I'm a die hard Pats fan and I hate the Seahawks more then any other team in the league.

The Jet's and Dolphins can suck my dick as well lol

any given Sunday, I was pissed but hey that's the game but I'm just happy the Pats can compete year in and year out and when Brady pulls it out he thanks his team's and coach's and not thanking god like Wilson did last week!!

I've warn my Moss jersey the past two games but do I switch to my Brady for the Super Bowl now hmmm. I do have my Pat's flag flying above my tv as well for most of the season!!
