No, you can still walk with a torn ACL, but you can't do any lateral movement....That said, walking on it could cause further damage, so obviously they shouldn't taken precaution and had him carted...but if they didn't pull him out of the game when he was limping around, it's not all that surprising that they would let him walk around when he just got badly injured...

MarkyMark 01-09-2013 01:29 AM

Amazing that they kept him in that game while he's out there limping around on his leg like that. You can't just ask him if he's ok and wants to stay in, because of course hes going to say hes ok in a game like that. He's still young why risk permanent damage to your star QB :fulloffuck:

The fact that you cited a guy who came back from double knee surgery to have one of the best running seasons in NFL history kind of invalidates your point, does it not? ;)

ACL surgeries aren't nearly as worrying as they used to be....There is plenty of evidence in recent history to show players fully recovering and even being stronger after an ACL injury.

Here's a list of guys who have had torn ACL's and made full recoveries:

Al Harrington (NBA)
Jamal Crawford (NBA)
David West (NBA)

Willis McGahee (NFL)
Wes Welker (NFL)
Adrian Peterson (NFL)
Tom Brady (NFL)

The key to fully recovering is mental. In the words of Jamal Crawford, the key is getting past the stage where you are questioning, “Can I still do that move? Can I still do that cut? The actual injured leg ends up being stronger than the leg that’s not injured, but you don’t believe that at first. You’re scared. You doubt”.

That said, Griffin has already bounced back nicely from ACL surgery when he was at Baylor in 2009, so he shouldn't have any problem getting past that mental stage...

Career being close to over?...lol c'mon man...

That is correct but this is total reconstruction of his knee and not just ACL surgery :)

AP is a freak and there is no one in the NFL like him. Like I said I so hope what I said it wrong because RG3 is great for the game.

MR_BIGGS 01-09-2013 07:07 AM

I hope RG3 has a full recovery, but his style of play will shorten his career if it hasn't already. The rules of the game have changed so much in an effort to protect QBs. I'm not saying he should change his style, but he could end up like Greg Cook if he doesn't.

If he adjusts to becoming a pocket passer like Ken Stabler did in the 70s, RG3 could extend his career when he returns. Stabler went on to win a Super Bowl title in 1977.
He had frequent knee injuries caused by being a rushing QB.

SkinnyPupp 01-09-2013 07:09 AM

Griffin started sliding a lot more before he got injured. And the play itself was kind of a freak accident anyway, not really related to him being reckless.

lol....not sure if serious.........but I'm guessing you're being serious since you failed me......the only reason to be worried about RG3's scenario is because it's his 2nd reconstruction on that knee...That said, RG3 is just as much of an athlete as AP is, and I wouldn't exactly be surprised if he was ready to go come week 1 of next season.

7seven 01-12-2013 01:41 PM

LOL for shits and giggles threw down a bets for most passing yards this weekend, Russell Wilson 101 to 1, Schaub 41 to 1. Very unlikely but you never know haha

7seven 01-12-2013 02:27 PM

OMG Trindon! :fullofwin:

theevilslave 01-12-2013 03:20 PM

^That was brilliant. Aiyaa I put too much money on the Broncos for them to lose. Not looking too good

pastarocket 01-12-2013 04:04 PM

These Ravens are playing tough. 35-35. Jones with the tying touchdown. Flacco
has been torching the Broncos safeties all day. Smith has burned Champ Bailey for 2 TDs.

Ray Lewis plays on. Wow, Flacco has a cannon of an arm.

-game tied for the fifth time. Overtime!

Mike Oxbig 01-12-2013 04:44 PM

49ers and Packers will be better :D

Mike Oxbig 01-12-2013 04:47 PM

Wow the best team on paper just got knocked out of the playoffs... oh wait, Seahawks has the best team on paper :D

pastarocket 01-12-2013 04:55 PM

Flacco stepped up his game. This QB burned Bailey so many times with his long bombs to Smith.
Unlike Manning, he threw balls without gloves. Not an easy thing to do in freezing weather with a hard ball.
