Lol falcons got lucky, so fucking lucky....

pastarocket 01-13-2013 12:22 PM

Finally, Matt Ryan gets his first playoff victory.

Seahawks comeback came short. -I was telling a co-worker that Seattle can't afford to have a slow start in the first half just like the game last week against Washington. Marshawn Lynch's running game got shut down in the first half.

-can't expect a team to comeback from 20-0 down to win a game every time.

Go New England!! A tired Ravens team is the opponent in the AFC championship. :fullofwin:

Mike Oxbig 01-13-2013 12:23 PM

Falcons don't deserve the win. They will get destroy by the 49ers.

I can't believe that it's Tony Gonzalez's first playoff victory. That guy is beast.

Sad my Seahawks lost, but the boys showed heart not quitting and coming back, so close. But holy shit, Wilson is now the passing yards leader so far this weekend at 385yds, good shot at hitting that bet with Brady only going over that twice this year.

Kaepernick stands a better chance than Matt Ryan :joy:

pastarocket 01-13-2013 04:41 PM

Things are falling in place for the Patriots now. The team is on a roll at Gillette Stadium.

-next up, the tired Ravens.

7seven 01-13-2013 07:20 PM

Woooot hit on my prop bet Russell Wilson most passing yards this weekend 101 to 1 payout :fullofwin:

What a great weekend of entertaining football, early lines out are Pats -9.5 vs Ravens and Niners -3.5 vs Falcons

Nice.how much u win.?

bballguy 01-13-2013 11:14 PM

Seahawks fucked it....Horrible coaching.....Why the fuck did they go for it on 4th down in the fucking 2nd quarter when they had guaranteed points with a fg and plenty of time to complete a comeback....Fucking horrible, put a little bit of faith in your team...and that was only one of the MANY mistakes this team made today...

Anyway, I'm only a Seahawks fan cuz they are "local"..I still have my Ravens to go for.

Mike Oxbig 01-13-2013 11:22 PM

:considered: If Seahawks gets #1 Seed in the NFC they probably will be unstoppable.

pastarocket 01-14-2013 02:46 AM

The Patriots' offence is looking good in the playoffs. 41 points by the no. 1 offence.
Brady's game is getting better and better. -good to see other receivers step up their game in the playoffs.
Shane Vereen played great with his 3 TDs! Brady sets a record with his 17th playoff game victory, breaking Joe Montana's record.

-concern with injuries to key players. -hoping that Woodhead is healthy enough to
play against the Ravens. Gronkowski is out with a broken arm. Man, the team needs him. TSN reports that he is likely out of the playoffs.
Go Patriots!!!

That and the "let's call time out before they try the field goal! :derp:" trick.. what the fuck is that all about. Saw it a few times this year, and just about every time it backfired on them (IE if the kick had counted, it would have gone wide, but the second chance was good)

Marshawn Lynch = Fail Mode in that game. Terrible!

Oh well down to the RAVENS... That'll be a tough one, but looking at the last game, 95% of the pickem leagues chose Denver... so... :accepted:

Gronk is done for the rest of the season requiring another surgery on that arm. Not happy about it but they have at least the offence is used to playing with out him right now and Hernandez is still one of the top 5 TE's in the league.

Some coaches like to "ice" the kicker, to play mind games with them hoping the extra time to think about it puts more pressure on the kicker, but more often than not, it fails to work IMO, especially when it gives the kicker a practice kick basically

Quote:

And so it is that Carroll has become the latest coach to wait as late as possible to ice the kicker, and to have the kicker miss the kick. And make the Mulligan.

As it turns out, Carroll was upset not because he was trying to disavow the timeout after clearly calling it. Carroll said during his post-game press conference that he was miffed because he had been told before the game that, under those circumstances, the kicker would not be allowed to kick the ball.

It’s common for coaches to talk to officials before a game about things that will or may happen during the game. Most notably, Saints coach Sean Payton gave the crew a head’s up before Super Bowl XLIV that he was planning a surprise onside kick. Carroll explained that this oddly specific topic came up on Sunday because Ravens kicker Justin Tucker apparently finagled a practice kick between overtimes on Saturday night.

Beastmode looked like he was running a little tender all game, there was reports he was dealing with a sprained foot all week, missing practices.

lol, looked like he got hit in the nuts before the fumble

What is the field goal accuracy rate after a kicker is “iced” compared to not being “iced?” – asked by @mikeregister

Since 2001 (including the playoffs), kickers have successfully hit field goals at an 81 percent rate when no timeout was called prior to the snap, and 76 percent when a timeout was called.

However, it’s worth noting that the average distance on “iced” kicks is 39 yards, compared to 36 yards on kicks on which timeout was not called.

Also interesting: In overtime, the average distance of kicks after timeouts and kicks with no timeouts called is about the same (37 yards).

In that instance, “icing the kicker” by calling timeout works. Kickers hit only 69 percent when “iced”, 87 percent when they are not.
