I still have 2 games to watch, but I did watch Panthers vs Giants last night, and Steelers vs Commandos this morning
Bryce showing potential again, with really good anticipation timing throws. Usually accurate, sometimes not. A lot of the misses and drops are due to slow/shitty receivers who get bumped easily. I don't know if he will ever work out with that team, but I really think he would on other teams. Danny Dimes had 2 really good drives at the end, but stunk it up for the other 90% of the game. Potentially had a career saving win, but their RB Tracy dropped it on the first play of OT. I feel bad for him, because he was devastated. Without him, they wouldn't have even been in OT.
Commandos lines just got absolutely demolished by the Steelers lines. Aside from a couple breaks, they had no run game to speak of. And on the other side, they couldn't stop the run. On top of that they had several key drops that would have led to first downs and even a TD. Daniels just fucking lasers it every time; he's going to have to learn to put some touch on it in certain scenarios.
OK off to watch the Eagles/Cowboys game (the only free torrent available, I would have preferred Jets/Cardinals) and then SNF
Edit: Just heard that the Chiefs blocked a Broncos game winning 35 yard field goal at the end of the game. Because of course they did.

Lions winning a game where Goff threw 5 picks has people calling them a "team of destiny" . Maybe this is a sign that the Football Gods are going to give America a feel good story to distract them next January
OR
They threw picks to a broken team who were only able to score 10 points on those 5 picks. And then were able to do enough against this shitty team to barely squeak in the game winning FG in the end.
Either way, amazing to win that!
Some other notes I noted
-Drake Maye continues to improve. Every game, he gets a bit better. The team has a lot of building to do, but like I keep saying, they have the Guy, so they don't have to worry about that. Protect him and get him some weapons!
-Baker deserved to win that game after that stiff-arm throw! Too bad. Deebo going after his own long snapper's throat was really weird. Get your shit together man!
-Jets Stink, blow that whole thing up at the end of the year. Rodgers didn't work.

Coach throwing long snapper under the bus.. Because he's just the long snapper, so who cares? Stars should be able to grab people by the throat if they don't know their place. |

I can't handle Justin Tucker being cooked. This is just a slump. This is just a slump. This is just a slump. An off year. |

Yah, the 2 biggest games this week were the Chiefs vs. Bills & Ravens vs. Steelers.
1. Thank you Bills for taking out the Chiefs ... you did the league a favour. Kudos to Allen, guy came to play. 4th and 2 with a little over 2 mins left in the game, Buffalo leading 23-21, Allen runs in for a TD to seal it. Didn't watch the full highlights but that was the decisive play.
2. Steeler FG'd the Ravens to death. 2nd time this season that Boswell got all the pts in a game and both times, they got the W (some sort of strange 'first time' in NFL history). Just watched highlights and there were many. Pretty defensive game but saw some good offensive plays as well but both teams must have been pretty tight defensively in the red zone. Ravens lose by 2 and Tucker misses FG. But they also failed on a 2 pt attempt for the tie on the last drive. That defensive ball rip from Watson on Hill !! Justin Fields, got some playing time to run out the clock, his strength was scrambling but he slides short into 1st base! I think Harris saved his ass by getting the 1st down on the next play and that was all she wrote. Anyhow, a typical Ravens vs. Steelers game, this one could have gone either way.
Other interesting mentions:
NY Jets lost ... oh surprise surprise. Rodgers following his mentor Favre in the last yrs of his career.
San Fran struggling ... but at 5-5, they are just 1 game from the top team in their division so that might be their saving grace.

Crazy defensive battle, bad for both offenses. I really liked how the defense played, compared to most of the season. Washington looks good in safety, and newest Raven Tre White made 2 shut down plays on Pickens keeping them to FGs only. That is NOT easy to do.
But...
If Tucker kicks 2 of 3 instead of 1 of 3, they win
Or if the Ravens have 1 fumble, or 2 fumbles, instead of 3 fumbles, they win
So the outcome sucked
People are going to overreact, but whatever. On to the next game, and with the toughest schedule in the league, it's not going to get any easier. Chargers look really good rn against the Bungles
Geno's scramble to win, making the 49ers eat shit at home was an awesome moment and almost made up for the loss |

Clutch play from Geno Smith.
One of my co workers is pissed that his Niners lost to the Sea Chickens.
San Fran defence is pretty horrible in the second half of games this season.
Fox Sports showed the stat of the Niners ranking second in the league in terms of points given up in the last two minutes of a second half of the game.
Niners run defence had no answer for Geno Smith in the final minutes of the game.

What do you think of NFL doing more International Games next year? From 5 this year to 8 ... smart move to grow the market? You'd think the players would hate the long flights, time zone change, etc. and then have to return to play next Sunday. But hey, if you can grow the fanbase, maybe players get something in return like % of revenue on the merchandise?
Cities include UK, Ireland, Spain, Mexico City, Brazil, Munich ...

Cities include UK, Ireland, Spain, Mexico City, Brazil, Munich ... | I like the idea of more international games in order to grow the market of fans for the NFL.
However, the league needs to take more time to consider the health of players when it comes to scheduling the international games. Give more time for players to adjust to time zone differences and travel fatigue.
For example, the league can schedule the teams which are playing international games to play in a week where the following week is a bye week for that particular team. A bye week gives the players more time to rest and recover from travel for international games.
The NFL Player's Association needs to be more vocal to ask the league for some tweaks in scheduling international games in order to look after the health of their players in my opinion.

Strangely enough, they are not playing any games in the neighbouring country to the North. Mind you, I don't think we have any stadiums that can hold more than what 50K people. They like 80, 90, 100K seating capacities. That or, they have enough of a fan base in Canada.

Nix seems to have arrived, was competent in a super close game with the Chiefs and threw for 7TD and 0INT against the Panthers and Falcons... had his first 300+ yard game and over first over 80% completion.
Maybe Denver finally found a QB |

Maybe Denver finally found a QB | Nix is a great example of how you develop a rookie QB during a season. Not a perfect example mind you; they definitely tried to do too much with him early on. But eventually they simplified things greatly for him, and then added more and more responsibilities from there. Now it seems like the guard rails are completely off, and he can play to his full potential.
Washington another great example of this. Very simple college offense (but with some twists) and they blew fans' minds. Not clear if teams have figured him out, or the rib injury is bothering him really bad.
Compare that to what the Bears did with Jalen, Panthers with Bryce, etc.
