close for a half and then John Harbaugh's team ran away with it.
Harbaugh bowl I think is John 3 ... Jim 0.

Well, you don't ever have to 'let him win a game' ... he can do it just fine on his own.

man .. every incomplete pass, receiver just raise his hands and see what happens! Maybe you'll get a call ... and they do !!

With proper officiating, the final score would have been 45-13 or around there. I can't even get mad anymore. All I can do is hope my team can overcome it, and win games 30-23 instead. Because that's all that matters unless you're the Lions (for some reason)

This was a really great game that turned around after converting 4th down at their own 16, and then it was no longer very competitive once JK went out with a knee. I really hope it's a minor thing this time, otherwise his career is likely over.

Also credit to the Chargers fans for showing up. Usually they are on the road in LA, but Ravens not being a popular team allowed them to make it an actual home game for their team.

By the end of the game, I was thinking that's right. The breaks HAVE TO eventually stop going the Chiefs way. Finally there will be some justice

Fuck me

Well ... interesting Sunday, things happened in AFC North

- Steelers vs. Bengals, always a shootout with Cincy. I'm beginning to see the Steelers gel, solid D, lots of receiver weapons, Russell Wilson making good decisions, Najee Harris ... not smoke and mirrors anymore. Both teams had some really good offensive & defensive plays. Cincy definitely better than their record indicates.

- Ravens had an unstoppable 1st quarter, operative words, 1st quarter. They looked unbeatable then for some reason, the Eagles brought out some kryptonite and Ravens disappeared for the next 3 quarter and got beat pretty soundly. Justin Tucker's bad year continues with 2 missed FG and a missed PAT. Must be frustrating to be a Ravens fan. No worries, next week is a bye and then the following week is a gimme (NYG) and should be an automatic W.

Thank you Seattle Seahawks > NY Jets. Rodgers, you can feel free to go into darkness for a reset anytime now.

Buffalo always win snow bowls.

Only other mention might be the Lions on Thanksgiving day. Wish them the best. They got away with one when the Bears messed up the last 30 seconds of clock management. It was bad but even if they did everything correct, it would have led to a FG to tie, so not a W in any stretch. I think Det would have still eeked out a W in OT. BUT coach got fired for better or for worst. Growing pains. I like Caleb Williams, for a 1st year QB, it's what you would expect.

KC , they are so nauseating ... may the Taylor Swift absent from home game jinx be in play for the Chiefs next week vs. Chargers. Poor us, we just have to put up with all the friendship bracelets, traffic snarl, stay away from DT over the weekend. But if that's what it takes for KC to lose, I'll grin and bear it.

I was planning on getting up at 5 to watch the Ravens game, but I was too excited and couldn't sleep, so got up at 2 to start my day with Steelers vs Bungles. And I'm kind of glad I did! That was wild. Bungles have now lost 4 games while scoring over 30 points

Then I saw the Ravens go back and forth with the Eagles.. Each had 2 good quarters and 2 bad quarters offensively, and again it came down to Justin Tucker missing field goals. Losing by 5 while missing two field goals stings, but there's nothing you can do but hope he gets it together. Other GOAT kickers have, some like Vinatieri several times.

Ravens are just so beat up; targeting Agholor more than once per quarter is not a good sign. Week 14 bye is killer. But they have 3 games within 2 weeks when they come back (Sunday, Saturday, Wednesday) so they'll need the rest.

Maybe it's frustrating to be a Ravens fan, but not this one. With their schedule, there are going to be a lot more losses than what the Bills or Lions are going to have for instance. They can own the narratives and all that after running up scores on the Jags and Titoons of the league, it doesn't affect what happens when they play other good teams. When it does, it's close. If you really want to know how teams are playing, you have to watch the tape and see why things happen the way they do, and what can be adjusted and what can't. Ravens D is coming together finally, and the O is getting fewer penalties. They just got beat up by another tough team.

On the other hand, the Bills got to bully a weak team in the snow Purdy failing fills me with joy. Not because I don't respect and appreciate him as a player, I am just sick of the coverage he gets and fans pushing him as the next Tom Brady. You can tell Tom hates it too, because when he does comms for Purdy games, he throws shade at every opportunity

Among that, the Seahawks comeback was hilarious, as the Jets continued to shoot their feet with several penalties on plays where they made 4th down stops

Colts last minute comeback with the 2 pointer for the win was fun. AR is nowhere near ready, but he's a freak prospect with a lot of potential. That may not be seen on his rookie contract

Bryce had another good game, but Baker went full hero mode, getting them to FG range with seconds left and then winning it in OT after Chubba Hubbard put it on the ground after the Panthers made a stop

Finally, the cheap shot on Trevor was disgusting, and I hope Al Shaair gets suspended for a long time. I liked how the Jags stood up for their guy - teams with shit vibes would not do that. I can't support fans throwing stuff at players, but he pretty much deserved it.

I've been up for 12 hours now, I hope some of that made sense

Just saw the abbreviated highlights of Browns vs. Denver, quite the shootout gunslaying exciting kind of game. Impressed with both teams. I hope the Browns leadership is now convinced to walk away from Watson and go all in with Winston. Team plays so much better with him under center. If they can tighten a few things next year, I think they can be a > 10 Wins team. As much as I don't like Sean Payton, the Denver team was solid with good D and some sharp offence. Both teams had some really BIG plays but Bo Nix is looking legit.

That was a fun as hell game. Browns definitely need to move on from Watson, but you do not go all in on the guy who throws nearly as many pick sixes as touchdowns

Really good back and forth Thurs Night Football between GB and Detroit!

Edit/Update - master class on clock management by Dan Campbell and the Lions! Great win vs. a solid GB team. Happy for the Lions, cheering for them to rep NFC in the Superbowl.

Other NFL news, Trevor Lawrence going on IR, not likely to return this season. 2nd coming of Mac Jones as QB.

Good game yeah, they delivered on high expectations. I don't know if it was a good call to go for it on 4th that final time, or if it was a call at all, rather than just doing that no matter what. But it probably didn't matter either way. They win either way, and this gives the team an extra boost on top of that, and the confidence that goes with it.

Trevor got fucking destroyed by that nasty late hit - an elbow to the jaw during a slide. Al Shaair got a 3 game suspension for it, and likened himself to "The Joker" in a tweet, saying when he comes back, he'll really be a villain. Well he's a clown, that's for sure. Glad the Ravens won't have to deal with him on xmas.

Now Trevor can go get his much needed shoulder surgery done earlier, so he can be fully recovered for next season. People don't realize how banged up he has been. It will be interesting to see who will be running the team then.. The coach is pretty much gone, but you have to think the GM has to go too, and start from scratch. Lots of talk of BB going there and bringing in his guys.. that would be a very Shahid Khan move, but I dunno.

Interesting games today ...

1. Damn ... can somebody pull that horseshoe out of KC's ass ... so nauseating. Wins it on a FG that hit one of the crossbar and ricocheted in. Damn, damn, damn.
2. Miami > NYJ - so so satisfying. More L's added to AR12's legacy.
3. LAR > Buffalo - thought the best team in the 2nd half would pull it off but kudos to the Rams for holding on and answering TD for TD. Scoreboard was lit.

that's really it, no other games were surprises or out of the ordinary. And the MNF Cincy and Dallas might be a good game but irrelevant for either team really.

A healthy Rams team is a scary team, they are a bit up and down but holy shit can that team score when things are going well. If I'm the Eagles or whoever ends up second, I'd be more worried about them than Washington because I feel with the experience they have and the way they are playing right now they could easily upset a few teams.

Vikings spoiled Kirko Chains return, I've been a fan since I was 12 years but I'm still skeptical despite the 11-2 record. I hope this team is for real but I want to see them prove it in the post season. It would be really sexy if the Bills beat the Lions on Sunday, could make for an interesting last game of the season between the Vikings and the Lions if the Vikings can keep winning. They have some hard games rest of the way though, Chicago next week which is whatever, but then Seahawks, Green Bay and finally Detroit.

You would think Detroits injuries would start catching up to them but hasn't slowed them down at all so props to them. I think their biggest Achilles is Gambling Dan, IMO he needs to tone it back about 25% in the playoffs and take points when they're available, if not I can see another playoff exit on a stupid gamble.

The Official *NFL* thread

How about those Cowboys! They find a way to lose a close game at home hahaha.

Mitchell blocks the Browns punt. Then Oruwariye touches the blocked ball.

If Oruwariye does not block the ball, the Cowboys recover the ball. What a bonehead play hahah.

Burrow makes Dallas pay with a TD throw to Chase to win the game.

I found this NFL strength of schedule page, and it's better than most, because they update it weekly, based on several subjective "rankings" out there (like ESPN or NFL.com's team rankings, which don't go simply by win/loss record)

Usually SoS is calculated at the beginning of the season, and takes into account W/L and I think score

So which playoff bound teams (8 wins and above) had the hardest schedules so far this season? In other words, their games were played mostly against other good teams that are also most likely going to the playoffs*:

Packers
Ravens

Who had middle of the road schedule?

Lions
Bills
Chiefs

And who had the easy schedules?

Vikings
Broncos
Eagles

And who had the easiest season of anyone, by a ridiculous margin?

Steelers

None of this predicts anything of course, but it should set expectations moving into the playoffs. Some teams get a lot of hype by beating up tomato cans and running up the score against shitty teams. Others had to struggle their way into the playoffs by fighting it out with other playoff bound teams. This sets MY personal expectations differently.

If I want to see how good a team is at a glance, I look at what happens when they play good teams vs when they play bad teams.

For instance, the Bills have played 7 bad teams:

W Non-Tua Dolphins (injured in that game)
W Jaguars
W Jets
W Titoons
W Flacco Colts
W Moribund 49ers in the snow

And they have played 3 good teams

L Ravens (dog walked)
L Texans before Niko died
W Chiefs? Question Mark?

And they've played a couple decent teams and won (Cardinals, Dolphins with Tua, Seahawks)

*I'd handicap anyone who played the Bengals, since they are actually a really good low ranked team.

But, anyway... I was bored so thought I'd share this mindspill.

Packers vs Ravens in the Super Bowl

I'll have to listen to some smarter people about it, because I don't understand at all. There's like 10 teams that are going to hire new coaches in a couple months lol

Here we go: Why Bill Belichick abandoned hope of landing NFL job, pursuit of wins record

TLDR: NFL teams aren't interested. They have to give up too much control over the team. And those that are open to it think he's too old, and don't want to have to start over when he's in his late 70's after a few seasons.

Brock Purdy throws a season ending pick in the end zone, and the Rams win a rough game in weather where no TDs were scored

Have fun paying $60 million a year to the guy who pisses down his leg whenever CMC can't play

Usually a guy plays lights out on the last year of his contract but he certainly did himself no favour. SF should offer a 'bridge' contract like they do in NHL. Maybe a 3-5 yr contract in the $25-30M/yr ... something like $80M for 3 yr, throw some bonuses in there if they go deep in playoffs, NFC championship and of course, a nice fat bonus for winning SB.

I'd go one step further and franchise him on a 1 year deal, sure you pay him low 40's for next year but if he's shit let him go in 2026 and either sign a free agent or draft a QB.

Their window has closed anyway, they have to start restructuring because they have so many star players on that team that they have to pay they can't them all, especially paying on the high end for a QB. That's the reason they've been able to keep a lot of these guys, paying the QB crumbs where most other teams are devoting 25-30% of their cap space to the QB position.
