Really want to see MS & Sony's response in regards to integrating the gaming system with home entertainment. While I won't be an early adopter, I can totally see myself owning one when the price goes down.

The controller's only an NDS slot away from insta-buy. It'll never happen, but that was what I was thinking of the the whole time I looked at the preview.
I wasn't a fan of the controller when I played with it at pax, the screen wasn't the highest quality and the lack of multi-touch kinda bugged me. It was cool playing bits of the game on the gamepad though.
They won't sell the big pad separately until games are compatible with 2 which doesn't seem like it during the first few months. I want to pre-order and have it shipped. Wonder when amazon.ca will carry it.
They taking preorders now? I promised my son one for X-mas......

starting $299 sounds pretty damn fair to me for an updated Wii with a fancy controller and decent 3rd party games at launch.
it's not like canada's dollar is weak and they'll try and sell the 60GB PS3 for $699 x old 14% tax = $800
Considering it's basically 'current gen' it is pretty bad. And that $300 doesn't get you the pack-in game. That's the biggest mistake I think. 90% of the Wii's success was due to the pack in game. How many people even played more than that? Maybe some bought Sports Resort and Wii Fit, but that's about it.

Although that was a while ago, so maybe it is shorter now...
I was actually expecting $249.99 launch price just like the Wii
We'll see how Nintendo climbs out of their stale gaming situation. I think they've done a fine job with changing the way games are played and re-introduced video games as "family entertainment.
Nintendo hasn't been doing too well over the past year or so. The 3DS has failed to find any of the success that the DS had (at least on this side of the pacific).
the WII is just a big fad. everyone buys its just for the motion sensing and novelty stuff and 2 weeks later realize they just wasted a shitload of money. i swear everyone i know who owns a wii doesnt even play it anymore
