got my polar buff :D |
whats it made of? and the %s? |
Look on the website buffwear.com , I'm currently not home so I can't tell u Posted via RS Mobile |
Mmm, "100% polyester microfibre and Polartec® Classic fleece" Wonder how well that is compared to the one I have which is like a 64% polyester blend and 36% merino wool. Couldnt find a clear winner online between all polyester/all merino/mix of both. |
cypress was selling the buff, but not sure what version. |
rode cypress from 0900 to 1300 today 60+cm's in some places, on average 30+cm's everywhere else. The mountain [at the time] has no power, so everything was being ran on generators or back up engines. The accumulation of snow with the high winds were incredible, and the inbound avalanches were impressive. There were cornices that were breaking of even AFTER patrol was cutting certain lines. The parking lot is a disaster, and the road up is less than ideal. If you don't have chains, or SNOW tires, don't even consider making your way up. I haven't seen snow like this since 1998 |
damn, the snowboarder that just got rescued needs to pay cypress $10,000 |

rough estimate. closer to 100g's with mountain operation costs/employee wages cost/North shore search and rescue costs as well. 10grand is a small estimate based on an uneducated guess |
thats crazy! another reason not to go out of bounds. not really worth it if you get stranded. |

There was a segment on Global News that talked about how harrowing and dangerous of a situation the SAR crew was put in cause of the guy. http://www.globaltvbc.com/video/nort...1&s=dd#stories |

Global BC | Cypress Mountain to bill rescued snowboarder $10,000 "DND documents say the total annual cost per flying hour is $32,232 to operate a Cormorant helicopter"- The Globe and Mail, Sept. 10 2012 .That's the big yellow one in the back in the picture of him getting rescued. |

the one's that won the parking lot battle were actually trucks and suv's. Till they got on the road heading down. Then they drive like pansies |
A month later and its still hucking down in Japan. It just doesn't make any sense. Just a little update of my season up here. Filmed all this in one 4 hour session. |

I was up at cypress last night and the snow Was awesome. A tree fell down on cypress road about 3/4 of the way up. They stopped traffic for about 30 minutes to clear the road. It was totally worth the wait. Posted via RS Mobile |
