Rome Total War II first off :fuckyea: I have NOT been a "gamer" since high school really in the late 90's early 2000's, only playing sports titles like Madden, NHL & NBA.... but if there was one game I was obsessed with being a huge history/warfare nerd, it has been the Total War series (also the Age of Empires series) the original Rome Total War for me was the best game I have ever played, it kept me fascinated every time I booted it up. They announced RTW: 2 a while ago, but I just felt like creating a thread after seeing this vid Sega just posted that's got me pumped! GTA 5 coming out next year & this game, I feel like I can call myself a gamer once again !! Discuss away guys, I know there's gotta be a bunch of you in love with this game, it's been a massive success before and will be again. |
looks great |
looks awesome |
Oh god, another addictive game. This shit is like crack. With all these titles I'll never be able to stop. I usually go through phases of gaming too. |
haha, ya I'm just happy that a PC game I actually wanna play comes along so I can test out my comp... I just build my first high end PC and I don't really like any games out there enough to play them, imagine driving a Ferrari through a school zone, that's what I feel like every time I boot it up |
God damn... Total War Shogun 2 was pretty epic already. There goes many sleepless nights. |
Why is that called "Gameplay" footage.. its called Cinematics footage... I doubt the game would look remotely like that.. I enjoy all the Total War games... Ive played them all... |
I was addicted to one of the Total War games, but I forget which one. Maybe Rome, because I remember having to deal with the pope all the time, that cunt. All the others though, I couldn't really get into |

Oh yeah  |
The pope was a fucking cunt. |
Yea same here, I was addicted to Rome, and then moved onto Medieval 2 which I still play to this day, those are the only two. I have Shogun 2 but never really got into it on the same level as the other two. And yea a few cutscenes but most of those scenes are actually taken from in game footage so that's what gameplay will look like thanks to the new graphics engine they're putting in. |
shit now I want to play again |
game released at midnight last night and it's an absolute shit show.... performance for a LOT of people is horrible, textures look like shit, no SLI support yet so this makes even one of your cards that works stutter like crazy... the whole first and second page on the official TW forums is threads of complaints about it so it basically for a lot of users it looks like shit and it plays like absolute shit...... hard to believe a huge game like this released without proper coding, and SLI support on day 1... especially after all their talk of how they've been focusing on coding the game properly so it runs smooth |
oh god good thing I didn't preorder...made that mistake with CoH2 and no SLI support...will wait a few weeks for them to work out the bugs |
Guess I won't be going out after work to buy it lol. Posted via RS Mobile |
I want this game , not sure if my comp can handle it Posted via RS Mobile |
lol, for some reason certain settings give you these soldiers, aahah, zombie mode i guess.... this game is soooooo fcked right now http://i.imgur.com/mpLB5tS.jpg http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/...4CE72213C8859/ http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/...71B9921F954D5/ http://s9.postimg.org/b5x0xvczz/8n_Jv1w_S.jpg |
Any improvements yet? Posted via RS Mobile |
nope, still same old shit.... the company officially apologized for the state of the game on their official forums.... basically some of the guys behind the scenes said the game was only about 70% done roughly, and it's obvious that Sega pushed Creative Assembly for the release date on that make money tip, not really concerned about the state of the game knowing they could just patch it after release... for me, this is the only video game I have played in a year, I built my whole PC just to play this game, so it really sucks for me so that's whats going on right now, they released a few minor patches that don't do jack shit, so everyone is waiting for a patch to fix the major problems in the game which are proper CPU and Graphic Card optimization, the game literally runs like shit even on very high end PC's, lags all over the place, the textures look like shit and keep looking like low resolution... also no SLI support for guys like me that need it, etc...... the optimization part is what hurts the most probably if you ask most of those guys on the forum, because Creative Assembly spent so much time talking shit about how they worked hand and hand with Intel to make sure the game runs like a boss on Intel CPU's And thats just the technical side of problems for the game, it has many more issues on the gameplay side that this guy here explains clear as day... in this clip he doesn't even mention the tech problems really either, lol.... just shows you how bad this game is currently |
It takes like 30 seconds to a minute just to end a turn. This is with "show CPU moves" turned OFF Posted via RS Mobile |
Has any updated patch made this game better? I'm looking into buying it. if it sucks, just going to play shogun 2 instead.. |
Currently on patch 11 and performance wise its only improved a little bit, campaign map still lags to unplayable levels will literally hover under 10fps when you're in certain parts of the map or choosing units, etc.... Some people are now saying SLI works and for others it doesn't, not that it matters anyway because the problem is the CPU bottleneck so graphic card doesn't even matter much... Gameplay wise the biggest issues always was and STILL AFTER 11 PATCHES!!! Is the Siege AI... The computer still has no idea how to siege cities, they will bring latter's to your walls, then most of the time abandon them and stand underneath the city walls slowly getting killed by defenders towers and middle units.... I find that if you want playable frame rates, the DLC modes Caesar in Gaul and Hannibal at the Gates especially will give you decent PlAYAbLe frames on the map... The main campaign there is just way too many things going on for even high end CPUs to handle.... So basically the only differences these patches made is they shoved more DLC for you to pay for, while the game still continues to have the same exact problems it did on launch.... Business 101, all about that dollar, I will not be purchasing another SEGA game ever again personally... As for this game by now it should be clear to everyone there is no indication the game will ever be fixed, best bet is let this one go and wait for the next one.... Posted via RS Mobile |
dont support garbage devs like these guys i hope they go outta business |
