At the end of the day, money is the tool to buy experiences, so I guess the benefit of making it to 35 - 40 with no money is that you probably have a lot of good memories to remember everyday.

Isn't it kind of selection bias though where only the lazy kids stick out like a sore thumb? There are plenty of kids born post-2000s pulling good money working in tech jobs or working their way towards a professional designation with good pay.
I wouldn't write off an entire generation based off of a few spoiled apples. I can count a few examples of post-2000s kids that are lazy AF, but I know just as many if not more that are doing better than OK.

Could be true. Though I’ve only met the bad ones and they seem to outnumber the good ones by 10:1.
Lousy friggin interns. This one kid wanted to celebrate this thing called Christmas. Ever heard of it ? Basically he wanted the 24th, 25th and 26th off. I’m like you get the 25th and 26th but the 24th is a work day. Bah humbug.
I worked him till 6pm on the 24th doing tedious spreadsheet stuff. He cried to his fellow peons that he missed Xmas eve dinner. Trololololo I hope little Timmy dies

Majority that moved here are doing really well because you can't move here otherwise. The few smart apples that took advantage of that savings I listed above used their $150 - 300K to start a small businesses and they moved their family from middle to upper class.
The think the most common comments I hear are "If we had our current wages in our 20's pre 2015 we'd be set".
We can't really common on Gen Z as they're mostly early 20's, nobody makes good money early 20's unless you got that YT money. Quote:

Legally anyone who's employed has to be paid at least minimum wage.
The exception is if the internship is part of an school program.

The only loophole are the Coop programs we gotta pay $500 to the school. I think the students gotta pay the Coop program to join too. Good thing I give them a pizza party and a $100 GC as a thank you for 3 months of service.

You have to pay for internships, Hootsuite got into some hot water because of that a few years ago.

I don’t know. I’m not HR, I thought he worked for free.
If we were paying him then I should have held him in OT until he’s finished

How soon will we see rates take a dive. For 2024,
March 6 Interest rate announcement
June 5 Interest rate announcement.
You really think they will come in and drop 1% and then another 1% June 5?
Blown away if they drop 1% entire year for 2024; not even .75
Which mean 2024 will be 4% which is still extremely high.
2000 from 5% to 2 % in 2 yrs - overvalued stock market
2008 from 4.25 down to 0% 2010 - crazy banks over lending
Both of those were crazy events which i don't think will happen in the next 3 yrs

Which mean 2024 will be 4% which is still extremely high. | I'd guess that we'll see little to no change in 2024 - the messaging from the bank is that they think inflation is pretty persistent and they're gonna fight it till they're sure it's dead which means they're going to be very cautious about lowering rates. In addition, they've been burned a lot lately - they had predicted rates to stay low for a long time (huge error) and then when they did a pause this year they quickly had to backtrack. They've lost a lot of creditability the last couple years so they're gonna play it safe.
I'm hearing stories of people renewing for as high as 6.9% right now with most banks listing their 5 year rates between 5.8-6.4%. Gonna be brutal for some folks (and it's not like it's been good for a while).
