The percentage change itself is pretty meaningless (so small) but it does signal that we're finally over the hill and should start seeing real decreases through the rest of the year. I'm up for renewal Oct 2025 so I'd sure be happy to get below a 4% rate (from 5.37%) - seems like rates around 5% were happening before this change so that should be doable.

Badhobz 06-05-2024 06:54 AM

when will the lease rates drop on cars?!?!?! i want a brz/gr86 NOT at 8.9%

Bought our townhouse and locked into a 3 year term at 4.79% 45 days ago. Of course. But couldn't wait any longer though and had to close.

MarkyMark 06-05-2024 09:35 AM

About time we've been getting kicked in the teeth on our variable mortgage nice to see it going in the other direction

I'm curious were you quoted on a fixed 1 year or 2 year?

Milhouse too. We're listing next week and are shopping for a mortage before we close on our new place in Sept.

I think the rate change itself doesn’t really do much but it’s moreso the confidence in the market coming back

I wonder how long my mortgage bank will adjust the rate down though. When it goes up, they're pretty darn fast about keeping up. It's usually within a week.

We were doing a blend and extend with FN.

They used their 3-year posted rate on their website (5.79%) to blend with our much lower rate which sucked.

blkgsr 06-05-2024 12:14 PM

i saw the decrease is worth roughly $20/$100K

$1M mortgage that's $200/month.

I'm hoping i'll start seeing more inventory in the types of houses i'm looking for. pretty bleek right now.

should be listing mine in a couple weeks

People heading home to check new house listings.

Harvey Specter 06-05-2024 03:42 PM

I don't anticipate a rush to buy homes. Many people are still overleveraged and servicing high interest debt. Depending on what happens over the next few months, we might head into winter with more supply than demand.

Damn, this is a good rate... best I got was 5.19 for same term. Which bank was this?
