I think you vastly underestimate the type of experience and work involved in a sailing yacht lol

Badhobz 08-16-2024 08:22 AM

thats why i was going to take courses locally. I get discounts being a part of that royal yacht club through work. Supposed to have done it in 2020 but then the pandemic ruined my plans.

I watch a ton of YouTube videos and I can sail this single-handed with modern conveniences like autopilot, AIS, and all the marine electronics needed to keep it on course and safe. Not like spyballoon will be much help anyways, shes just gonna throw out a comment every few hours about me being stupid and how this is super dumb and not fun.

bcrdukes 08-16-2024 08:25 AM

You can often get into sailing by going to some marinas and there will be owners who need help for races, and they will show you the ropes.

A co-worker of mine in Vancouver did this for many years, and in fact, he just got back from a 2 week race down to Mexico, I think? As a result, his wife also just handed him his divorce papers. So yeah. :lol

Badhobz 08-16-2024 08:28 AM

im pretty sure the only way ill be able to buy this boat is if I am divorced.

Shes not very supportive of my cocaine filled hooker barge

supafamous 08-16-2024 09:26 AM

For you poors who can't afford a yacht or a $30m estate there's a lot of money up for grabs this weekend with the lottery corp.

Lotto Max: $70m plus 47 $1m prizes
6/49: $44m plus the $5m.

We used to go always go to the “Christmas in July” boat parties

Have spent quite a bit of time up there, been going to Savary for the last 25+ years. Desolation is one of the greatest places I’ve ever been. Wish I could ball on some day cruiser etc. and spend extended time up there

I wanna see spy balloon tie up a knot when you're docking at a marina.

The fights you're about to have :lol

no man, no. For a sailing yacht (which most cruisers use) there are a ton of choices below 1 mil. These are the ones I've been eyeballing.

Its a relatively affordable purchase price, it has huge space for me and ocean spy balloon and its blue water certified.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QyEoUMw9cyQ&t=2s

like in all seriousness, its the price of a Ferrari. I cheaped out on not getting that stupid Roma, I might as well buy a nice boat later when I retire and YOLO The fuck outta here.

Yeah, I was referring to class A boats capable of making trans-pacific trips.

My parents were thinking about buying a share in one of those. The presentation even preps the cost and how they can structure it so that whatever cost of the boat, they make it tax deductible and how trans-pacific on your boat is THE bucket list items blah blah blah.

They didn't end up doing it, but one of their friends did. And they complained it as the worst investment they ever did when he invited my family to a cruise... to a point where I wasn't sure he was genuinely complaining or bragging.

These sailing boats are a beauty though. I'd love to ride the "Hobz" if it's like this.

In this case, I think most of us would love to ride the "Hobz"... :D

Well, I have to come clean.
Assuming we can somehow manage Mrs Hobz to agree, Those topless models are what I’m looking forward to. Whether Hobz is there or if I’m actually riding the Hobz is irrelevant. :ifyouknow:

You know what's interesting? I've heard more people say gay in the past few weeks, than I have in the last 10 years. Not sure what's going on, but I feel like gay is making a comeback.

Badhobz 08-16-2024 10:33 PM

^ What a gay thing to say

A bizarre basement layout for a 3 bedroom suite. Tiny kitchen, weird hallways, and that laundry unit in the middle of nowhere.

whitev70r 08-17-2024 03:50 PM

yah, that lower level prob should have been a 2 bd suite with some more space for other things like kitchen. The long narrow corridors, what are you going to do ... it's a duplex. But holy sh*t .. to the price tag of $2.385M !!!

underscore 08-17-2024 06:51 PM

It looks like the plumbing stack runs through that short wall, so that does limit what you can do a bit, but man what an inefficient layout.

Hondaracer 08-17-2024 07:08 PM

Such a typical EI build to have a nasty plumbing clean out just hacked into the wall like that. At least position it above the stupid baseboard ffs..you can’t even really put a cover on it now

carsncars 08-17-2024 07:13 PM

I don't claim to be a structural engineer but even this would've helped with the efficiency (move the doors into nooks to at least get more usable space in the rooms, eliminate the weird hallway space):
