Is he related to the Constant Gardner? |
Porting only works if you're not on a variable |

his budget balanced itself! |
The budget actually does balance itself as long as it appreciates with inflation > interest rate. The thing with Canada is we waste money on liabilities rather than appreciating assets |
@Hehe, what's your credit card bill monthly? Just curious =D Is it more than $15k or less? |
He probably has an AMEX Black Card or whatever it's called. |

No black Amex, first, I don't think I'm remotely close to be invited (something around 500k a year minimum on card?). Either way... it make little sense other than bragging right though. I am too cheap to be paying 4k a year for card. |

Guy who lived here before was a record exec so he had like 3000 records and was a huge audiophile. It's something I never would have spent the money on but will enjoy a ton so really stoked to get it set up. |

Yeah I heard they were a good beginner setup and my wife got it for me a couple Christmas ago. It's nice being able to support bands for music and get something tangible for it. I'll almost always buy a record at any show I see now. It makes putting music on feel like an occasion where you just turn everything else off and enjoy. Kinda like driving a classic. |
Yah same for me especially at smallish venues, or indie bands that aren't famous enough (yet) you can usually buy direct from the artist and they will even sign the record for you and stuff... I've got a lot of signed CD's etc |
Speaking of vinyl, I was inspired to fire up my Technics SL-23 (vintage belt drive with dust cover intact from the late 1970s) that I inherited from my dad the other day. I put on my 80s pressing of Thriller the other day. Can't beat the sound and warmth of vinyl. |
Neat to hear some of you are also into vinyl. My dad had some but I bought the first one for myself back in high school (Radiohead's Hail to the Theif) so I've been collecting for awhile. Fortunately my collection is still manageable in terms of storage. It helps now that vinyl are so much more expensive than they used to be. I like to keep my impulse buys to $20 and under, unless it's something I've been searching for for a long time (like Madvillainy where I found randomly at the record store in Gibsons and had always been on my wishlist.) You can't find much for under $20 these days. Nowadays if I do buy vinyl it's used vinyl from local shops. Here's my setup and collection. Vintage Sony direct drive turntable I got from my dad's friend, old pioneer AVR for power (I have a vintage amp but this one is just more powerful and sounds better), and my dad's old JBL speakers that he gave to my bro that I'm just holding for him since he's in Asia. The vintage console for off FB marketplace actually also has a supposedly working record player and speakers but I've never bothered to test it. Spoiler! |
If anyone wants old Portuguese records or Christian vinyl let me know.. lol I’ve got like 300 records and 250 of them are random Bs.. I’d rather toss them than be at risk of someone ripping me off on sonthing that’s actually worth money lol |
