US $1600/sq. ft. I believe

JDMStyo 12-17-2018 04:46 PM

Yup about $1500+/ft for Westbank First Light. I'd be surprised if it doesn't sell fast given all the hot IT money there in DT Seattle.

twitchyzero 12-17-2018 05:53 PM

dont know about downtown but detached in Seattle already peaked, it's been cooling off for the past 9 months

Hondaracer 12-17-2018 06:52 PM

DT Seattle is a fucking dump.

westopher 12-17-2018 06:58 PM

So is DT Vancouver though, and DT San Fran, etc.
I find most big cities the cool spots are in pockets spread out. Once I spent a day in Seattle with someone who lived there it became a totally different city to me.

Hondaracer 12-17-2018 07:34 PM

Thing is everything is around in Vancouver there’s restys bars shops everywhere

Seattle it’s like small pockets of things here and there and then huge areas of nothing but office space etc. also being on the Hill everything is either up or down. Personally I don’t enjoy it at all compared to DT Van.

With that said dt Van gets tiring with the barrage of chain restaurants

and all the fucking homeless bums

CivicBlues 12-17-2018 09:20 PM

Other than shopping or working you shouldn’t really be in DT Seattle. Go to Fremont, Ballard, Capitol Hill or Belltown instead. They’re all downtown adjacent and have much more character than any neighbourhood in Vancouver, save maybe Gastown.

Way more homeless in Seattle.

That park by the stadiums is actually scary to walk through

CivicBlues 12-18-2018 08:31 AM

Unless I'm mistaken, Seattle also doesn't have anything approaching the Homeless poverty-industry zoo that is the Downtown Eastside right?

Though California cities have homeless tent camps that put ours to shame.

I know Maui and Honolulu is very bad when it comes to their tent cities.

fliptuner 12-18-2018 09:06 AM

yray 12-18-2018 09:45 AM

Holy shit that's close to Honda Center. Wife and I went to Ducks/Flames game while doing a Disneyland trip a month ago. We got a bit lost walking after the game and that looked like 1 wrong turn away from being right in the middle of that.

CivicBlues 12-19-2018 08:35 AM

The original Skid Row is located in Los Angeles
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skid_Row,_Los_Angeles

Seems like their population of 6000-8000 homeless is matched by our Downtown Eastside
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Downtown_Eastside

Not bad for a city 1/10th the size. W O R L D C L A S S C I T Y

Hondaracer 12-19-2018 09:22 AM

Seems a little hard to believe that a single city with the population of our entire country has an equal amount of homeless. But who knows I guess it could be true

CivicBlues 12-19-2018 10:31 AM

Well LA doesn't have the population of Canada, California does though and more.

I suspect their homeless are spread out over the city in a more evenly manner.

Hondaracer 12-19-2018 10:54 AM

yea sorry, Cali.

First time I've heard of that, that would really suck. Also, most US states have really high property taxes compared to us, I took a look at California, Texas and Washington and they're usually 1% of the value of your place annually...whereas my Richmond condo is only $1500/year with a grant lol

68style 12-19-2018 08:47 PM

^
They have funny rules in many places in the USA though like San Fran they always renovate houses cuz you continue paying the original property tax from 19-dickety-2 as long as the house is original... shit like that...

Also the whole writing your mortgage off against your income?? That’s huge!

Any update for the holidays @JDMStyo ?
