I know the spots are fine according to our building code, but in reality, these spots are only meant for minis/fiats/smart cars. Most passengers would exit the car before the driver parked so they could get really tight on one side.

Can confirm even Fiats have the same issues in these stalls.

If you're friends with the developer (Tier 1 buyers) you will get to choose.

I always thought original owners could pay to have a better located spot. I guess that's not the case.

I've heard but can't confirm that some places will do it randomly but in order of how big/expensive your unit is. So If the building is all 1-3 bedrooms then all the 3 beds get the "best" spots first, followed by 2 then 1.

Can only speak from my own experience in which there was zero say and it definitely had nothing to do with how big your unit was either. When I bought it at the presale centre I asked and they said no but made a statement saying you guys were really nice and easy to deal with we'll put you higher on the list of good spots. I had requested a very specific type of spot as my preference and left it at that. Out of the 55 stalls in my parkade imo there are only 6 spots that are amazing and the rest are either normal or shitty. I did get one of the 6 and it was exactly to my preference. Now did it go down the way they hinted or was it pure luck? We'll never know.

Lol my old apartment we had 2 spots for our suite, nice wide spots, and then additional spots were $25 a month, your choice of what was free :fullofwin: and you could take up to 5 spots

I can’t say if it’s because of foreign ownership etc or just due to the time I’m in there. but I go into a lot of the newer high rises by metro etc. gold house etc. and the parkades are empty

You can, assuming not all spots have been assigned yet then the developer may give you a choice of what's available.

I've noticed this too, additionally... my cousin's 2020 completed tower in Metro also has like 10+ BMW/Merc/Audi/Porsche SUVs with 2 years of dust on them and flat tires. Owners that hard converted to WFH? lol

I can't imagine anyone would want to pay $3.1M and live in a three unit strata. Seems odd

westopher 05-06-2022 10:06 AM

It’s absurd pricing but that’s a really cool house in one of the most expensive neighborhoods in North America.

PeanutButter 05-06-2022 10:20 AM

I know people who are obsessed with the neighbourhood they want to live in. They see real value living in particular neighbourhoods. It's LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION.

I guess saying you live in Shaughnessy brings a level of clout?

westopher 05-06-2022 10:33 AM

That’s pretty much what I’m saying yeah. I actually thought this was closer to the water than it is.

Alpine 05-06-2022 11:56 AM

It's not just Shaughnessy that we're talking about, it's FIRST Shaughnessy lol. If you are not in first Shaughnessy you are a pleb. No one needs to know it's a strata lol. /s.

Yeah, not my cup of tea either… and it’s a short lot too (33x110 vs the standard 33x122). Room for at least 3 different households, but only space for 1 car on the property!

Hondaracer 05-07-2022 08:44 AM

3.6 to have baseboard heat everywhere

Euro7r 05-07-2022 09:07 AM

Just my opinion, I find it amusing to see idiots list their homes too high, then they have to drop the price. Then it shows in the history of the property lol. Seller needs to drop it by $1M lol, can buy in a nicer area with $3.6M.

Alpine 05-07-2022 10:02 AM

EI spec home special. Too many dumb design things going on with this house. Tear this shit down please.

westopher 05-07-2022 10:07 AM

I just don’t get why anyone would buy that. I guess the same reason most people buy teslas. It’s new and looks like you’ve got money, but no taste.

Hondaracer 05-07-2022 10:09 AM

I’ve been in enough homes like this to know that generally, the buyers are oblivious

I actually told one woman to contact her realtor regarding issues I pointed out because the finishing was that bad

Sad reality is that there will be a percentage who thinks that home is great. Most likely new immigrants who are oblivious about the value and quality (or lack there of) of these EI build.

I didn't even need to zoom in and you can tell the tiling work is SHIT

Hondaracer 05-07-2022 12:42 PM

The worst tiling I’ve ever seen was in this huge EI mcmansion in south Burnaby. BIG house just gaudy cheapo interior terrible moulding work etc.

It had a massive entry/foyer that was completely tiled probably 1200+ sq ft. The tile they chose was this big 2x2 marble look. However, every single tile was the same, it had the exact same printed fake vein on it. The worst part however was that they installed every single tile in the exact same position so every single tile had this swooping vein from left to right omg it was fucking teribleeeee

68style 05-07-2022 11:23 PM

I need Honda to come and look at any place I want to purchase haha

Please don’t tell me it was the white porcelain tile with printed grey vein…
