https://www.zealty.ca/mls-R2707175/9...estminster-BC/ $3.2m in New West. A number of questionable design choices (only room for a 4 person dining table? Only 3 bedrooms?) but kudos to the sweet garage that measures 22x24. https://cdnparap130.paragonrels.com/...2728802-31.JPG |
tile floor, looks "nice" but terrible functionality. |

Newage makes a LVT product designed for garages. I'm thinking thats what I'm going to go with in my garage. |
That house is seriously not kid friendly. Though there are a few questionable design choices, overall it looks decent. But that flat roof that everyone here says is a big nono lol. |
It hasn't changed much or at all since the $2.1M purchase in October 2020 to justify the price, other than the current listing cranking up the HDR and contrast slider for all the photos https://www.zealty.ca/mls.php?id=R2500613 https://cdnparap130.paragonrels.com/...62728802-5.JPG https://cdnparap130.paragonrels.com/...2522240-12.JPG |
That layout is terrible, everything is so cramped considering how blocky it is you have to walk right through the kitchen from the front door. |
im not a huge huge fan of this modern design and layout. You gotta keep your house COMPLETELY SPOTLESSLY CLEAN and free of clutter to make this aesthetic work out. If you have a normal family amount of stuff, it'll look cluttered and messy. Especially the kitchen.. like where the f am i suppose to put my hot water boiler, my rice cooker, my insta pot, toaster oven, etc etc etc. fuck you modernism.. its anti chinese.... cooking! |
The not lived in look only works for the must tightest of sphincter OCD people I know... like they will spend days researching ways to make wires disappear or the pros and cons of a throw cushion. |
I love how the TV looks like an afterthought tossed into a corner. Why watch something when you can just stare at the giant grey slab. |
https://cdnparap130.paragonrels.com/...2522240-22.JPG Isn't there code that covers this? No railings, and pretty sure if you ever fell forward or backward on that, you'd die or have a spinal injury from landing on that desk. |

But seriously, that house looks a like rehab house. |
There are a handful of really unique mid-century & mid-century Esque homes in Massey heights (essentially centered around Jackson crescent & York Street). I love that area. |
New affordability report for Vancouver Median household income 67k post tax Median income required for median mortgage payment 109% based on current prices with a 20% down payment. That’s super fucking great. |
Why do we still use median household income as a metric when so many owners in Vancouver have foreign income? Median household income makes sense for AB/SK/MB or even in rural cities in BC, but not for Vancouver. |
Because the jobs that exist here need people to fill them. If you don’t have anyone who can live in a city fill the jobs, what the fuck is the plan for the city to actually function? |
So I guess all of us here are powered by foreign income? Hello CCP relatives that I didn't know about funneling non-existent cash to my bank accounts. |

In fact, if you are single and are going to earn at that level, in a place like London, you've already known for your whole adult life that you will rent until you die. That's not that unusual and frankly the city doesn't spontaneously shut down nor do these people automatically live an awful life and die in rags under a bridge. The only thing that's new here is people in this situation in Vancouver are going to have to swallow the pill that just because their parents could do that and buy a house, that's not reality anymore in Vancouver. If we didn't grow up in detached houses our parents owned, we wouldn't think this was weird at all. -Mark |
This isn’t about detached houses. This is about a home, to live in, with walls and a bedroom. This is based on ANY dwelling. A single person earning median income doesn’t need a house. They do need shelter though. I don’t know how people feel the need to defend this as “just the way it is.” |
Yet there were immigrant parents that worked 4 jobs to pay for the mortgage. When was the last time you heard millennials working a second job? Only fans? :ifyouknow: Just saying if you want it that bad no one is stopping you from doing Amazon after your 9 to 5. |
Yeah ok Mr.Happysilp why not suggest everyone live at home rent free until they have a down payment too. |

Point me to these 160 hour a week immigrant parents. |
Asians that don't speak English gross $100k plus at hallmark poultry. If both parents work there that's a $200k household :okay: money's there just how bad you want it |
EVERYONE IN VAN GO WORK AT HALLMARK POULTRY!!! What's that... 50 people or something? lol That's some 1990's shit man... I literally know a guy who's mom worked there and only retired last year and she was able to pay for her 1995 house with that job. Now she's living with her son in a house he built after he leveraged her original house to buy other properties and got rich because he did it all at exactly the right time. She couldn't afford shit with that job if she had to do it over again now.... no amount of how bad she wanted it would fix that... |
