Vancouver Sun article lists the properties and status from the court filing.

Imagine you're the last guy in this property:
All your neighbors got paid but you.

Georgia Court: An existing 25-strata unit complex in Chinatown. Coromandel started buying individual units in 2017 and to date has purchased 24 of 25 units for a total of about $25 million, the petition says. The developer had an agreement to purchase the 25th unit with a closing date in January 2023, the petition says, but has “not been able to complete the sale as they lack the financial resources to do so.” Coromandel had planned to redevelop the property into a larger strata building in the future.

Instead of owning 1 out of 25 units, he now owns 25 out of 25 units :troll:

Unfortunately most of the mainlanders I’ve met aren’t lying when they come with that big Dick energy. They are the same idiots who are bidding 3.8 on a house that’s assessed at 3.1 in this recession.

I wish more of them were paper tigers so I can low ball these sellers

$3.8M is really nothing for some of them, and any depreciation they incur is probably seen as just an insurance cost for having the money secured on this side of the Ocean.

Badhobz 02-13-2023 09:49 AM

yes unfortunately. We went to see a couple more 3-4m houses this past weekend and i kept hearing these china fucks saying how affordable these homes are.

fuck you. seriously. fuck you and the rolls royce you rode in on.

They should station Canada revenue agents/Border patrol agents at everyone of these open houses in richmond and bust all these motherfuckers.

Hondaracer 02-13-2023 11:10 AM

We all got what we wanted, turd loves those people hehehe

Manic! 02-13-2023 12:14 PM

Funny the person planing to move to Portugal complaining about foreigners moving to Canada.

westopher 02-13-2023 12:34 PM

But he's a white moving to a white place so it's not a problem.
It's not a foreigner problem here it's a rich person problem. Plenty of shit 5th generation canadians fucking up the market as much as the new Chinese money is, probably a lot more tbh.
I just don't think money should be a positive factor in immigration. If you are so rich you don't have to work here, I don't see the value. The way people have basically been able to purchase citizenship here goes against everything that immigration should be about.

^im sure thats true around the 1.5-2.5 million dollar mark, but the higher you go, the only thing spoken is mandarin and all of a sudden all the realtors dont speak any English either.

Tell me your poor, without telling me your poor.

My realtor is white

I rather have $5 million dollar none English speakers than refugees that come in claim benefits and gets another hand out from my tax dollars. At least the china man is paying property tax, tax when they buy their rolls Royce and LV. :accepted:

You think they're not claiming benefits....? :lol

Badhobz 02-13-2023 01:43 PM

Remember 90% of them are students or homemakers with 15 million dollar homes.

:rukidding:

The refugee is probably paying more taxes than these people.

Our system is a complete joke. I got audited for the Empty homes tax, I have my wife and I AND a tenant living here. I’ve lived here for 7 years. Every bill under our names, vehicles registered there etc.

You drive through Shaughnessy and 1/4 of the properties have 8” lawns and unkept landscaping etc. adult these people with 20 million dollar homes and a 7/11 pay as you go cell phone as proving their living in the home.

Makes me not really give a fuck about anything else or other people, guess if you don’t own a home you’re SOL

Badhobz 02-13-2023 02:30 PM

It’s pretty bleak. Even if you have money you’re competing with other significantly richer foreign/new immigrant buyers for these few ratty homes. I think the problem is the inventory levels are pretty low since everyone thinks it’s a recession and the few products left on the market are being fought over by everyone.

68style 02-13-2023 03:16 PM

I've been regularly looking in Tsawwassen for the last 4 months and the inventory of actual houses available for sale has dropped from 102 to 68 in that time. That's a pretty big decrease.

Maybe they're likely to start up business > Spend money on goods and services > But no job so more jobs opening for locals, all wins :awwyeah:

68style 02-13-2023 03:48 PM

All the people with that kind of money just say they "import / export" lol

Let's address the real issues facing our society - Canopy inequality.

Great68 02-13-2023 05:43 PM

So my lesbian next door neighbours put their house on the market for $1.07m 12 days ago.

I thought that was kind of cheeky, it was assessed (in July) at $915,000.

It doesn't seem like they have been getting a lot of interest, the first weekend it was on sale it had an open house for 2 hours and I saw maybe 5 or so groups show up, and then maybe another half dozen private showings in that time.

They've already dropped price down to $1.039m today.

The funny thing is that they totally fucked off and haven't been living there for the past 2 weeks. (Maybe moved in with their parents temporarily, I didn't see any moving vans or anything so their furniture and stuff is all still in the house)

So I'm wondering what their motivation is for selling?
One of the girls is a mechanic for BC transit, the other is an appraiser or something for a real estate firm (so I'd think she knows what she's doing) so I can't imagine it's financial issues, They bought in 2017 for 625K and they have two tenants in the downstairs suite which must cover half the mortgage or so.

I thought maybe they're trying to game the market, but I would have thought the biggest price drops have already happened.

So bizarre.

They actually just got married last November. That would be one hell of a short marriage. And they also have twin 8 month old boys.

Sounds like it's a good time to sell LOL

Anyone want a 6630sqft piece of land that I call home?
