Those wheels on the G are sweet! What brand/model?

kwy 08-03-2013 12:09 AM

Thanks. They are Boss Motorsports 335 in chrome, 20".

How do you guys get the brake dust out from the plastidipped rim? Mine was black and now it has a dusty/dirty black look to it... I'm unable to clean it out!

SkinnyPupp 08-03-2013 07:49 AM

Love this thread, thanks for all the posts everyone

It's so intriguing to me seeing how popular a matte finish is on cars now.., I have always been into matte finish on cars, for as long as I can remember, so it's just cool to see so many people doing it now. Love the pics!

lol regretted plastidiping my wheels white. Been two weeks and they're caked with brake dust haha

Any idea what one of the wheels weigh?

kwy 08-03-2013 11:42 AM

Brake dust pro works well even on matte white.

Roughly 30lbs per wheel. This design is more for trucks and domestics, but I think it looks clean on the g.

AVS_Racing 08-03-2013 05:27 PM

anyone use just matte clear or metalizer on anything? I find the coverage very thin and not that durable. slight friction seems to rub it off. I might have to go back to using full colours :okay: Also parts of the dip was lifting off the wheel corners :yuno:

kwy 08-03-2013 07:10 PM

Maybe try a couple base coats of matte first? And then throw on a couple extra coats of Metalizer.

First time dipping. Picture looks a lot better :D

Another SoundsGood Plasti-dip!

This poor Integra's paint was in pretty sad shape but after we dipped it, it came out quite nice actually!

orgasm_donor 08-11-2013 09:49 PM

Oh yeah, we have Monster green in stock! Wheels anyone?

JesseBlue 08-12-2013 04:12 PM

Yeah my blaze orange was a pain for brake dust...in the summer even! I will never dip my winter wheels unless it's black

planning to buy goo gone spray gel to clean some tiny spot residual.

But is it safe for car paint?

dared3vil0 08-13-2013 09:02 AM

I use goo gone to remove tree sap on the paint so i think (hope) it is.

It should be, I've goo gone'd pretty much the entire hood and both doors of the Prelude back in May without any issues.

Tried my hands at plastidipping for the first time with some help from a friend today. A little rough around the edges, but still pretty happy with the outcome.

^ I really like that Honda Jazz emblem on the Fit. Pretty sure I've seen your car before

hk20000 08-14-2013 03:18 PM

what if you fit the i from the "fit" into the 2nd letter of the word "Jazz"?
