From my experience, any car that is driven year round (say 10k+ a year). The dip job is probably only going to look good for that 1 year period.
So if you do it in the spring or early summer, by the time that next spring rolls around its going to be looking ratty in places.
Highly recommend wrapping the car if you are looking for something to last more than a year.

I did a matte black for my center console on 2011 CRV because the grey paint is fading here and there. I did about 4 layers and I feel it's a bit sticky when you touch it. Is it normal? Do I do something wrong here?

I'm rebuilding my DH bike and want to paint the coil on my fox vanilla R. Figured plastidip would work a million times better than spray paint that would just chip off. I think I had a few cans laying around. Bet you ill never find them Posted via RS Mobile |

I personally love plasti dip on wheels
I'm able to switch it up and it allows me to hold onto the wheels much longer. lol
Gonna do the Vintage gold for the spring and finally switch wheels for the summer
And heres some advice from dipyourcar.com |

I dipped these rims last year a couple hours before revscene's summer meet. It was fairly easy... just make sure you have even coats and not to overspray. If you overspray an area, it will bubble and won't have a smooth finish. It has a weird rubber feel to it but looks great from afar.

It held up quite well against rock chips. I drove the car with the dip with no problems for about 4-5 months and then I sold the car. Not sure what condition it is in now.

For those of you who buy Dip from US Homedepot, how do you do it? I tried to order online at homedepot.com but they won't let me. I can't input Canadian billing address and I can't use my non-US paypal account. What???

Weird. I've ordered from homedepot.com using ship to store with Canadian billing address no problem. This was last summer however, so something may have changed. Perhaps try calling the store and ordering over the phone.

For example like the grill u see from new range rover or the f30 bmw window trims etc.

Cheapest place to grab a couple cans of matte black locally? Craigslist is anywhere from $12 - $15.
Or if anyone has a couple of cans they want to get rid of, pm me lol

Just did this over the weekend, blacked out my grey/silver splitters. First time playing around with plasti dip so there were some jagged edges. Overall I think it turned out good. I did a total of 5 coats, but the first 2 coats were extremely light.

And heres some advice from dipyourcar.com | Did you have any difficulty removing the plastdip just from the lips without ruining the dip on the spokes?

Bought a fully dipped car 3 months ago, still peeling the dip off of odds and ends. Moral of the story, make sure you apply enough coats to make it peel okay, otherwise youll spend countless hours with minimal results. Other than that, the dip withstands a fair bit of abuse, no noticeable rock chips, only big imperfections was leaky washer fluid that seemed to stain the dip oddly enough
