Sure didn't. I found my cans of plastidip but they were rusty and gross so I recycled them. Not worth buying a whole can to try again

Bought myself a project.. was looking for winter rims for my 17" rubber and came across these filthy 15" bastards for less than what I was looking to spend on rims alone and the tires are basically brand new.
So I thought I would try my hand at dipping them.
Day one:
Bought some steel wool and after about 10 minutes of manual labour, said and went back to Home Depot:
Still took a while with power tools.. Not perfect, but good enough for the chicks I hang out with:
Coat two or three, wet:
Dried overnight:
Did a few more coats today and will put them on tomorrow.

Ignore potato cam quality and Honda Filth:
Going to touch them up a bit, but overall pretty happy with results.

I hope you removed the plasti-dip on the bolt seats?
Acetone and a q-tip before installing wheels, otherwise you haven't torqued the wheels correctly.

how long does it generally take to dry for a plastidip layer? I used hight heat block paint and it tends to dry fairly quickly within a few hours.

it must be dry before you add the next layer.. it took me about 3 hours from sanding to finished ( for my rims. )

Intense teal with gold metalizer. The gold isn't visible until sun or flash reflects onto it. |

Bump
There was a local vendor or member that used to dip people's wheels. But searching didn't yield any results really. Was curious on the cost difference between just doing it myself (which I could easily do) or just get it done by someone else. Being a renter, it's not always easy having to paint parts and get away with it

I used Plastidip to do the wheels on my car initially. I made them white to give the car a more athletic feel, it was pretty sweet. I wasn't super pleased with the look of it up close though, it had a lot of imperfections despite the entire day of prep-work I had done.
Then after a week of brake dust they looked like total crap, and I couldn't wash them clean because of the textured surface. So I ended up removing it all. I'd never use the stuff again, well unless I was broke and homeless.. then I might consider it to spruce up the beater I was living in to help me get away with parking it in nicer areas.
Meanwhile my other car has a set of rims that I had powder coated white to match the car, has been about 4 years now and they still look awesome (and you can actually wash them off quickly).

Other people mention having ST's yet I'm the only person on this entire website that posts pictures of it.
And for my ST, the Rotiforms are in new condition, not even a single scratch. It would be dumb to blast off the OEM finish and paint them white (as who knows who the next owner of the wheels would want). Also, did you use the glossifier? I've cleaned plastidipped wheels with no issues

I can't remember if I used a clear coat or glossifier, so probably not. I did it a few weeks after I got the car, so they were clean with no marks
