Clear dip mixed with extra material

Our buddy did the test of clear dip mixing with extra material to make sure the dip is smooth.

Total 6 coats.

Check out the finish

Blaze orange wheels, been kind of a bitch to keep clean due to brake dust. Probably peel it off pretty soon

do the rims peel off as easily as panels?

I can't imagine that it would with all the angles and such.

If it's nice and thick it should come off wheels pretty easily, unless they are mesh wheels or something

Soft Advertising counts, FYI.

Advertise on Revscene TODAY! Rates are cheap, and it'll probably get you laid.

This thread has been pruned, and a ban issued. This thread is for individuals who are DIYing, giving advice, and/or sponsors who wish to do the same or solicit business.

If you are a professional and/or semi-professional and wish to solicit business, even through PMs or "PM me for...", you will be banned.

As has been posted previously in the thread, both ASR and Soundsgood are sponsors who are active plastidippers--if you are interested in a professional Plastidip experience, contact them through PM, or through one of the many other ways to contact them.

Does anyone know how to spray PlastiDip in such a way that it actually HAS texture? I sprayed a test wheel and it's smooth as paint. I know it sounds weird but i'm kinda playing around with it and i wanted to see how a textured black looks.

If you want texture play around with the distance you are spraying from. too far and it will be all spec like in texture

Going to have to try that... PlastiDip is seriously idiot proof when it comes to having a smooth finish. So easy a caveman could do it!

I want to do wheels but how hard is it to keep the rim clean? Is there anything I have to avoid? Powerwasher, wheel acid etc. I am thinking about some golden wheel but might not be worth it if its impossible to clean. I have way too much spokes. I also heard some people have brake dust stains and bmw brake dust are notorious...

The black paint on both of my back window surround areas have paint chipping, so I picked up a can and sprayed them. So far so good.

I'd be afraid of it peeling from the pressure washer nozzles after time. Anyone have this problem?

Never done Plasti Dip before

But can you spray on rims without taking them off your car.

How would you cover the inside (caliper/brake rotor/brake/etc..) of the rim

After hearing all the stories, I finally got a can from home depot in the states so it wasn't a large investment.

The hardest part was removing the item from the car
But the spray itself was straight forward and the result is very good.

It's easy to tackle small items but doing large items or the entire car would be out of question for me.

Just ordered a set of the Gold Metalizer w/ white base coat plus a can of gloss from dipyourcar.com The youtube video used black base coat under the gold and I found it too dark. I want a brighter shinier gold on my wheels for my WRB subie.

Whole set plus a dip nozzle came to ~$90CAD after shipping and currency exchange.
