For the cost of a set of snow tires and cheap wheels, you could have saved yourself from a potential disaster. Have you checked your alignment and suspension components to ensure they're even fine? You never know if there's a big repair bill awaiting to rape you. Some people don't care so whatever floats your boat.
Keeping my snow tires on until late March.

Even if all seasons are fine for our winter conditions (just regular commuting, within the city), I don't want to fuck up the finish on my good wheels, driving through gravel, salt and shit and I know I'm not going to wash my car much when the weather's shitty. | The cost of mounting and balancing over two years (swapping back and forth) pays for a set of cheap steelies in and of itself pretty much right away. I picked up a set of Lolvo steelies off Craigslist for The Ford, and it's all good.

@ $80+tax (avg), 2 times/year, it adds up pretty quick. Storage takes the same amount of space, less wear and tear on your rims (mounting, weights and winter conditions) and one can DIY the swap.
Just the time you save, not having to wait at a shop twice a year is worth it.

Just the time you save, not having to wait at a shop twice a year is worth it. | Indeed. Although my mom pays $60 per season to get her tires stored (summers/winters), so that when she goes in for her biannual maintenance (May/Oct) she can just get everything swapped over.
She's 65. Hauling and wrenching isn't exactly her cup of tea, so to speak.

So who's got their summer tires back on already? Or when do you think you'll be swapping them?
14 day weather trend is showing 6-7 degrees.. I can't decide if I want to throw on my new summer rims or wait till end of the month.

Summers for the time being. If I leave the city to go shred or the temps dip noticeably again its only like 45 minutes to swap em back over. Loving rolling around on my nice wheels right now.

My winters are staying on 'til April. Mostly because the car needs biannual maintenance and April/October is a decent cycle.

its pretty warm these few days + its dry so its just gonna wear out snow tires faster. I'm most likely gonna throw summers back on by the end of next week if it doesn't rain.

There may have only been a few days of snow, but there were many cold days where they were the optimal choice for conditions.
Calling winter tires, snow tires, creates a misnomer.

Where is a decent place to change tires from winter back to all season?
Friend's car currently using winter tires and is time to change back to all season but the issue she have is that when she got her snow tires they don't come with rims (Stupid move I know....).
Ask a few Canadian tires and their price is around $100 to $130. However I don't think it includes aligement....

^^ sounds fair depending on the size of the wheel, why would she need an alignment, obviously its not included.

If your friend follows my easy to understand intructions she should have a painless tire swapping experience. Or pm me her number and if she's cute we'll go from there...
