Smart move getting out of your car while it is in gear and the wheel is spinning. Would have been hilarious if you had gotten traction and it went through that fence...
Relax. Car wasn't going anywhere. Would be more hilarious if you were standing in front and I GOT traction! Posted via RS Mobile

Car wasn't going anywhere unless it found traction!
Also, implying it would be hilarious to run someone over with your car is... Not the brightest thing to say...

1) I'm quite relaxed, comfy chair, fireplace... good book... macbook.... etc.
2) Who's Father Teresa?
3) Ever heard of pushing/shovelling? Not sure cardboard is going to help when you're stuck...
4) Keep a set of these with you... Amazon.com: Portable Tow Truck (orange): Automotive

LOL I LAUGHED SO HARD AT THE FATHER TERESA THING.
I just read it as mother teresa and moved on, but then I went back and read it and I actually ROFL'ed.
I only get turned on by professional whores where whoring is their profession. Not whores who are professionals. yuck, that means I have to actually listen to the shit that comes out of their mouth.

When the lows get to 7degrees a few times is when I put the winters on the TL.
That is when the regular rubber in an AS tire gets to hard to deal with the cooler temps and you will begin to see the benefits of the winters......or so I am told from the manufacturers :P
They're better on snow and ice for one, and are likely better in the wet too. At around 7 deg I doubt there'd be much of a difference, but considering that by the time we're under 7 consistently it's likely mid-November, so really why not put them on. By then there's a chance that we'd get a blast of arctic air.
Takes a bit longer for the tires to warm up, but I don't see any disadvantages until it actually snow.
no. too many times have we seen a car spinning its wheels in one spot going nowhere heating up the tires to the point that they are smoking like it is in a burnout box at the drag strip?

In vancouver weather when its NOT snowing, is it really necessary? I don't think so. All seasons will be sufficient
just because there is no snow doesn't mean there isn't ice and sub-zero temperatures. your all-seasons will have the grip and ride quality of hockey pucks in either condition.

Necessary, no. Good idea, OH YEAH.
Your AS tires are hard as a rock when the temps drop. This means lack of grip, cold temps mean less friction on the road and easier to slide or skid even when there is no snow.
Heavy SUV's tend to not fair well in the city when it comes to snow. Sure they have weight to get the initial traction, but it is that weight (momentum) that makes it harder to stop.
A little EG hatch with some snow tires is a great winter car. Light so it does not sink in deep snow, has the traction to get moving and not as much weight to bring to a stop.
