Like I said, just a string of bad coincidences.

Enoch, I understand your frustrations. No way to justify it on our end. But don't forget I was also trying to help you with your purchases off ebay. Not even from us. So you've only focused on all the negatives to paint us as the villians that screwed you over, but forgot to mention the hours I spent, along with your cell phone having no battery making it impossible to contact you, broken links you sent. Not justifying our actions, I'm just saying you've left out details to purposely paint us even more negatively. I've been on RS 10+ years, and have dealt with TONS of RS members and never once have I been painted a "liar". I'm sorry things didn't go accordingly, but things happen.

I have deal with Rise Salon once. Quick order my Compustar case, and best deal I can get in town. I got other price quote way higher than Rise in lower mainland. This is why I think Phil and Clarence are honest because they don't make bullshit price on their products.

That is my personal response.

I'm just wondering how come no research was done on the remote start being installed on the Prius beforehand before the appointment was booked if so many words were exchanged?

+1 with the honesty part

I've been fiddling around with my exhaust mods for many times from shops to shops, but still haven't found the sound I'm looking for.

Rise has been very patient with me and not letting me waste more money on trying different mods; even took the time to find me sound clips to ensure the exhaust note i want. Gave me wise suggestions and advice me to take my time.

They're nice guys; I understand this was a bad experience, but they admit their wrong and apologized. I hope people won't think bad of Rise because of this, their quality of work is great!

Mistakes and coincidences, whether good or bad happen all the time.

This thread is mostly for the OP to vent out his frustrations against Rise. Sure, he can say avoid this place at all cost because of this one instance, but you are the one who chooses how important the expressed opinions are, in your own life.

Both have their points and faults. OP did not do as much research as he could have. Rise had their faults (whether it be by coincidence) as well, but they attempted to own up to it. OP has every right to be angry, but it is just a matter of whether or not the person will continue with life or continue with their grudge.

Thanks for the support guys.
No one was "lied" too matter of factly Clarence was greatly offended by that assertion and myself as well.
That can be chalked up to a miscommunication as I was aiming to be here for 10am (or sooner of course) because I had a very busy day on hand and the sooner the start the sooner the finish. I work 12 hour days almost every day.
For the record I dont feel obligated to apologize or explain myself but I'm a person with at least a little integrity and respect and if either are warranted then I'll deliver.
RS as wonderful and awesome a place it is, isn't our only source of revenue but what we do recieve from the members here we pay it forward with the best price and service we can muster up.
After 16 years in this business I've learned a few things:
1) You cant save all the clunkers, the gf dont approve of all the strays in the yard and the employees dont approve of the strays in the shop.
2) You cant fix all the problems brought to you, theres no shame in sending it elsewhere. It prevents more than a failed attempt fixes.
3) You cant make all your clients happy even if your looking out for their best interests its sometimes not enough.
At the end of my day I'll sleep my night will turn to day and life will go on.
I encourage this type of communication, it might just show me some of my company's short comings and where improvements may need to be made. It may come off as negative to some it may seem pointless by others but to me it helps me feel connected with the community we all enjoy being part of and the community I enjoy serving and will continue to do so for another 16 years........maybe more

Failed the OP, because the purpose of painting Rise as the worst shop imaginable at the expense of laying out the straight facts is very evident in the post. To the extent that very important details, like that Rise did not charge for the work, and that he picked it up and left while they were still trying to sort the situation out, but used the mid-job state of the car as a strike against the shop. The rambling on using eight different words to describe how poor the service was also excessive and silly.

Most people should may already have noticed, but when you come on RS and ask for mechanical advice, you're almost guaranteed to get a response from Phil or Clarence. That's something they aren't being compensated for, you could argue it's marketing, but in the end, they're just helping out the community big time, and that speaks more to the character of the shop and the guys than anything..

Also, a few positive reviews of Rise Auto Salon... just for good measure

Spoiler!

If I didn't do all my own maintenance, I'd be having Rise do it all.

Sorry, but the OP's post was over the top for what amounted to not much more than an inconvenience.

That screams crybaby to me. Everyone who jumped on the OP's bandwagon is much the same.

If money changed hands, and the shop was screwing the OP out of work performed, then my opinion would be completely different.

He took off a day to get his alarm installed, the shop lied about his appointment time and failed to give proper and clear communication to him. Not only this, the shop was uncertain if there product even works on his car. That alone would get me deeply concerned, if they second guess their own products and work, who the hell would want to deal with them?

Positive reviews or not, that is irelleavent. There are many shops who are good that turned to dismal.

No customer should be treated like the OP has.

I'd be pretty pissed if I wasted a day and got a runaround.

Sure, I'll give him that. The shop could have done better here. Still not as big of a deal as you wussbags are making it out to be.

Did you even read the fucking post by the shop's reps?

THE OP BROUGHT THEM THE PRODUCT. THEN THEY FESSED UP AND SAID THEY WEREN'T COMFORTABLE WITH INSTALLING IT. THEN THEY DIDN'T CHARGE HIM ANYTHING.

I don't know about you guys, but that to me is HONESTY. I'd rather a shop that didn't know 100% what they were doing not fuck up my car.

OP wouldn't run into this situation if he bought the alarm from Rise A/S instead of EBay

Also...to call Rise A/S liars and etc...COME ON OP....if they are like that i don't think they will still be a part of sponsorship on RS....and how long has Rise A/S been with RS???

and shit happends in life everyday OP...suck it up and move on and quit bitching about it....don't need to lose sleep over this.....you ranting on RS about this probably took longer than your 1.2 hour that you waited at Rise.

Like I said. Oversight on my side. I took the call, Enoch seemed to have done his research. He was very organized, and said it had seen on the forums it had been done before. So i assumed he had researched alot and knew the work around for it. He has ordered the stuff online already and called me to setup a time for installation. I didn't sell him anything, he called to setup an appointment. Much like if someone went to ebay a stereo, called me to help them with installation. I assume people that already bought their stuff did their research.

We're all human things happen. I'll be first to admit we're not perfect. But which shop is. We've dealt with many customers that were unhappy with other sponsors, as I'm certain many other sponsors have dealt with some of our unhappy customers. Ultimately, no shop is perfect. All we can do is strive to keep you guys (customers) content.

Anyways, this is kind of going in circles. We both wasted a bit of time. We've apologized. Not much else we can do. I'm sorry OP felt the need to publicly display his displeasure. I'd understand if we'd damaged his car and didn't take own up to it, or took money for a job that was done poorly. But that wasn't the case.

Thanks for that people that are a little more understanding. Sorry Enoch for the time wasted. I appreciate the fact you gave us a shot. Anyways, I'm done with this cuz it's going in circles.

Time for TWANGER, HONGER, ASIAN THREAd.

PS: Those that have dealt with me the last 10 years from Boyz Audio days until now know I'm straight up. I'm sorry if OP got the time mixed up. But I'm almost certain i wouldn't have said 10am. Those of you that have had morning appointments should be able to confirm it's 1030am-11am if I'm booking it. Either way, that day we were late. Still no excuse. But to call me a liar for you mishearing me seems overboard, cuz I can just say the same back. Ultimately, who can prove what you and I said.

Stop trying to defend the shop. OP had an opinion he thought was important to share to RS and Rise as well said what they had to say. All in all, I agree with OP and had it been me? waiting for an Hour and getting lied too? I would have done something about it cause I'm not that nice of a guy.
But hey I wasn't there so I can't set the mood.

the guy was posting his point of the story and rise replied, whats the need to call people wuss's? how old are you to call a people wuss's.

Op explained his story, obviously there are two sides to every story. I am sure this thread was not created to compare good reviews to bad reviews. People read his story, saw where the mistakes were made and commented on it. There are obvious people including OP's friends who value the quality of work that Rise brings to the community. Different people have different values in their time. Maybe taking a day off work is not as valuable as you, Great68.

Everything after the Monday seemed ok to me. Customer brought in product that he purchased and the installer was not comfortable installing it. Customer should know you bring a product that was not purchased through the installer then it could go any which way. Op should not have gone back after monday, he already had a sour taste from the shop so its even harder for them to earn a positive remark.

A mistake was made, and i am sure Rise will still have all their same customer base and still have new people dropping by.

Tyler.

After the shop reps came into the thread and explained their side of the story, I see none of the above to be true.

Hence why I believe the OP was totally over the top with his little story.

As for calling you wussbag, sorry I hurt your feewings.

I miss the old RS where people here could cope with a little jab every now and then. Fuck.

I am sure Rise will learn from this experience and move on. This is just part of business. Too bad the OP had to go through that. Kudos to Rise for not denying the facts and being honest. It would be a different story if the car went to the dealerships.

One thing I gotta say is, its nice to come on a local car forum that doesn't just delete threads if a sponsors work is criticized like some forums. Sucks that it happened, but take what you will from it, each party has said their part. In all honesty though, as said, Rise has been supporting the local community for a long time, and those that understand business, know that you can't please everyone. No one should take it personally other than the OP or Rise, and even they don't need to.

Hence why I believe the OP was totally over the top with his little story.

As for calling you wussbag, sorry I hurt your feewings.

I miss the old RS where people here could cope with a little jab every now and then. Fuck.

AMen to that, i miss the old RS a lot, instead now its filled with whole bunch of whinnying little bitches complaining the smallest shit. Better yet asking some retarded questions, without search. WHat should i buy this week, what happens if i can only afford $5000, has anyone seen this car. Better yet posting some random one sided story making a huge deal out of it.
