Is it the 06 gen SI? And which gen is the RSX? The 02-05 DC5 differed from the 05-06 DC5 a bit. But generally speaking, I would personally go for the RSX, it's a good DD as well as a track toy :)

Its 06 gen for si, and i guess 05-08 rsx. Im still weighing in the pros and cons for both, and ive heard too that they have the same engine. I dont mnow if thats anywhere close. Thanks

Tsx is a 4 door car, I'm pretty sure he's interested in a 2 door. Also they stopped making the rsx in 06.

If we're talking about the si vs the rsx (not type s), I would def get the si. The regular rsx only has 160 horses where as the other two have 200 (05-06 has 210). If leather and heated seats is your thing, the rsx type s comes with it stock where the si is a lot harder to find those kind of options.

Its hard to find a type s that has low mileage or stock. I was really looking into getting one before but decided to stick with my d17 civic lol...

Imo id get the type s over the si, be a little different and the interior is nicer imo. Too much plastic in the 8th gen civics.

WTF are you talking about? 1st gen RSX is 02-04, 2nd gen is 05-06

:banghead::inout:

OT: Time to redeem myself :P. They don't have the exact same engine. The Civic Si uses the K20Z3 whereas the RSX uses the K20A2 - The RSX has 200hp @ 7000 RPM whereas the Si has 197 @ 7800 RPM, not that this really matters but yeah, 3 HP more :)

Also, I was looking at a few RSX's on classifieds myself and many of the type S's are NOT clean. They're in shady as fuck dealerships with chrome rims and a weird body kit.

yah im looking for a 2door although considering 4. and i did my search on rsx and theyre high mileage and only few are type s with low mileage, but then again it looks really good! si looks great too though and it has low mileage compare to type s

LookitsMarkA 10-10-2012 09:51 AM

i vote SI for finding parts easier .
civics are awesome.

badboy 10-10-2012 09:55 PM

Civic si cause I own one :)

E.D.C.5 10-17-2012 03:55 PM

RSX-S cuz I own one :)

I'm not sure about the Civic Si (because none of my frds drive the Si), but for the RSX (standard) they are known to have 2nd gear grind and 3rd gear pop out.

addyb 10-24-2012 03:47 PM

go with the rsx

Go with the Si

bluejays 11-01-2012 02:49 PM

If you're comparing the si to the non type-s rsx then definitely the si.

I had an 02 RSX before I bought my 06 si and I like the si way better.
The si also has more room in the rear for passengers, all my friends used to hate sitting in my rsx because there was no room for them :mamoru:

Is insurance for an RSX bad? Kinda want one for a DD but hearing insurance is killer

Santofu 11-01-2012 06:21 PM

I asked for the insurance quotes for both RSX-S and Civic Si, the amount difference is about $18 dollars.

dcE30 11-03-2012 01:12 AM

i'd go with the si

Speed2K 11-03-2012 01:39 PM

'06+ Si has LSD right? If so, I'd go with the Si.

benwang 11-03-2012 02:19 PM

try it both and see which one you like
rsx type s do not have lsd but use throttle linkage to control throttle
civic si have lsd but has this Drive-by-Wire Throttle Control.
An electronic Drive-by-Wire throttle control system helps enhance the driving character of the Civic Si.

I have a 02 RSX-S. I have to say it's a really great car. However, if you really want LSD, get the SI.

The interior of the RSX is also more directed towards the driver. e.g. the instrument panels, radio etc faces towards you. A BIG PLUS!! :)

The only con about this car would be the alarm system. If you do get a RSX, I recommend getting an aftermarket alarm. These cars are easy to break into. Maybe the SI would be better.

However, if you really want the SI, you should look towards the CSX-S version instead. The minor details are what will really make you decide which is better.

Rsx type-s in championship white

EvoLove 12-10-2012 06:35 PM

i would say the si cus civic XD and good fuel mileage/ i would say looks better than the rsx unless its a type R looking rsx :concentrate:

dared3vil0 12-20-2012 12:16 PM

Civic Si. Easier to find, and cheaper to work on than an RSX type s.

"Type R looking rsx" :suspicious:

There is also a pretty big size difference in the cars. Never driven an rsx, but sat in both, and the rsx is pretty small I felt.
