If you haven't seen basketball diaries its one of his first leading rolls and no question he took over being that character and was so believable

Come to think about it, Leo is a pretty good actor.
Other then kill bill and reservoir dogs, I'm not a huge QT fan. Fell asleep in ingloriuos bastards, and although I was kinda young, didn't enjoy pulp fiction all that much. I should watch it again.
I can see though how versatile QT is though. All of his movies have a different setting and theme based around them. I'm gonna watch Django Unchained, wasn't planning to though. Posted via RS Mobile |

I can't see a single thread between any of those roles (maybe his acting in The Beach was similar to Titanic, but you can understand why, these are two of his popcorn films though I really liked The Beach)... guy is extremely versatile...
Some of the most famous actors tend to do the same type of character over and over (look at Mark Wahlberg who came up around the same time as Leo), but I don't see it here...
That's my really long winded way of saying I completely disagree with you ![Smilie](/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif) | don't forget Catch me if you Can and Blood Diamond, come to think of it Ive enjoy every single one of dicaprio's movie. Some were excellent some was just good but Dicapario always give it his 110%

Finally got around to watching this movie. Let me first say I'm not a big QT fan. I understand his work but his editing style and camera work grates on my nerves a fair bit, at least in some of his older flicks. I'm also not a big fan of the constant flashbacks he loves to throw into many of his movies. That said, I gotta say Django was pretty damn good. Christopher Waltz, Jamie Foxx and Leonardo DiCaprio all played their roles very well. Great use of Blazing Saddle-esque comedy mixed in with the rest of the dramatic scenes. There were plenty of quite obviously QT action scenes (read: over the top, super bloody, puts Jerry Bruckheimer to shame ![LOL](images/smilies/lol3.gif) ) but I think they all fit the overall movie. Well, except for Laura-Lee's flying-through-the-door-after-being-shot-in-the-side death. That one simply made me facepalm and groan.
All that said, I'm a little disappointed with myself that it took so long to watch this one. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it yet.
9/10
