^ It's a bit hit and miss, they'll get a bunch in and then sell them all and not have any for awhile... best to give them a shout and ask if you're not going there for another reason

^ its a seasonal thing, it is not always readily available, hence I said if you got time....
Walmart and London Drugs has it as well.. though slightly more expensive and the selection is questionable... I even saw it at Canadian Tire once... LOL the one on grandview highway ...
Maybe Amazon.ca is your best bet if you are looking for a particular model, I mean I got prime already just cuz of grand tour

So far as I know Rai's only makes police vehicles... I have several of their 1:43 NSX models and they do a RX7 etc as well... Never seen a 1:18 and the company name definitely pre-dates GT Spirit

I have some new random NSX things coming in from order.. they're R/C cars but they're still pretty cool. I'll take some photos when they come in (from eBay and Yahoo JP Auctions)

more photos of the ottomobile dc2r... photos courtesy of tk diecast.
egh, i think the decal on the side is wrong?:
hood badge is bigger than i remember:
interior looks better than onemodel, which is all kinds of wrong:
yeah those type-r stickers are way wrong:
tailights look too big or is it just me? also the H badge is just a decal. i am sad...
it has the antenna in the rear fender at least. i don't recall the onemodel having that:

Overall the S14 Silvia looks pretty accurate, except the tail lights and the front grill
The tail lights look too wide/high and the colour is a bit off, like the front grill. They're both supposed to be very dark grey, not black.
This is from personal experience.
And I'm not sure why they didn't opt for the optional front lip + rear valences

ITR: tail light "jewels" are too clear and too big looking. Honda badges too big. Type R logo on the rear way too big.
Type R script should be: "integra" in tiny font on top of the "Type" and then of course the big red R.
Otherwise for the price you pay, cant complain of the quality.
It looks pretty accurate for a JDM 96' spec: Non SRS steering wheel, 4 lug wheels, early rear bumper, amber rear turn signals and the bigger Projectors on the headlight.
Stance looks pretty accurate too.
I love my ITR models...

| 1/18 DC2 Type R by One Model
Hi Everyone,
When I first saw the news release by Otto, I quickly jumped at the chance at ordering their DC2. But upon further research and inspection, I realize there are differences between the two companies. I won't be able to do a full comparison, till mine arrives at the end of April. But here are my thoughts....
Here are some pics of One Model's DC2 Type R. This is the 98' Spec.
Even though I did do some editing ie: adjusting brightness and the contrast in photoshop, you can still compare some of the differences between One Model and Ottomobile.
But first I do notice are the panel lines. Both models are sealed resin, but some how the panel lines on the One Model is a lot better. But since the pic of the Otto version is a pre-production model. Otto may make some changes. Other details, are raised Honda badges on the One Model DC2, B-Pillar on the One Model version is raised, and obvious the Type R decal. As for the interior, the center console is slightly inaccurate, and the shifter looks wrong on the One Model. And on the One Model, it is missing the antenna detail.
From what we can see on Otto's preproduction pics, looks like the windows will be a one piece acetate plastic. That means the B-Pillars will be printed instead of raised like the One Model DC2 version. The rear tail lights on the Otto DC2 look big. The panel lines are not as deep as One Model, and for the interior, Otto looks a bit more accurate compared to One Model. But is does not look to refined. Although this is a preproduction model.
As for color variants , One Model offers the DC2 Type R in Champion White, Yellow, Red, Black and Silver (which are all available now) Otto only offers in white, but they are releasing a Yellow version DC2 for the Asian market only, and only 300 pieces will be produced.
Enjoy the pics everyone.
You guys be the judges... Otto's DC2 is almost half the price ($185.00 CDN) compared to One Model ($320.00 CDN)
Comments are welcomed....
Happy Collecting
William

this is the worst part of the onemodel version. anyone who has owned a dc2 will understand why i cringe at this interior...
the other thing that bothers me are the wheels. i remember my 98specr wheels being flat faced, but these have a convex look to them?

I started my 1/18 collection and looking for a display rack that imitates something like Canepa's lift-rack system. Any ideas where I can find something like this? Most of the diorama lifts online only allow for two diecast models and would prefer to find a display rack that is modular and stackable as my collection expands. If I have no luck I'll probably resort to 3D printing some joinery pieces and use wood dowels as a cheap alternative. |
