Anyone ever buy any NoRev models recently? I had some of their old old old 1:43 before and wasn’t too impressed but they have some interesting selection now (especially for vintage French cars!) and I decided to take a flyer on a beautiful looking blue Mercedes S-Class with AMG package in 1:18 scale... I am actually shocked how high the quality is on this model! First of all, it weighs a tonne because it’s diecast and it’s full open with steerable wheels. Fit and finish is great, the doors even close with a springy thud like a true German luxury car should haha... interior is nicely detailed, painted with minimal sticker use, cloth seatbelts and rear seat has a fun tray table deployed. Trunk is covered in soft touch fabric material as are the carpets inside. Even the tint of the moonroofs are a different colour than the rest of the windows. I gotta say, for a bit over $100usd this model is a crazy deal, it’s about 95% of an AutoArt signature at 1/3rd the price and still diecast.
Not sure if other NoRev models are of equal quality but this particular one is impressive! I also picked up a Brooklands Capri 280 on sale but I haven’t opened that one yet, though I can see right away on that particular model the wheels aren’t quite up to snuff. Close, but not quite.
Just added the One-Model RocketBunny NSX to my collection. Apparently it's limited to only 99pcs so I'm happy I got one. I collect NSXs mainly as it's my favorite car. I'm not a fan of RocketBunny though but I had to have this one because of the color. They nailed the paint perfectly like the real thing. I too painted my NSX a "Kandy Apple" and know how hard it is to paint. I have the Autoart Aventador J which is supposingly a similar color in the real but the Autoart piece and paint is disappointing, it's definately not a Kandy color and more like a tame metallic red... I've been trying to source a 1:18 Volcano Red Mclaren but haven't found anything (Autoart produces a 1:12).
Funny thing is, on the original box the importer/distributor named it as a "Transparent Red RB NSX". In love with the color, it looks so wet/glossy just like my car after a fresh coating/paint!
Pardon the potato cell pics and poor lighting and heres a short clip of my kandy red nsx to compare.

Picked these up in the USA on a recent trip, not a bad haul! I discovered that the real go-to place for this stuff is Fred Meyer! That’s my pro-tip to everyone... Walmart and Target are so picked over but the selection at 2 different FM was awesome!
Yes Fred Meyer! My relatives used to always take me there when we went shopping in WA state in the 90s.
I managed to score the black CRX and white 993 at Save on Foods in Victoria recently.
Long shot but does anyone have a model BMW 1M in white they want to sell.

I’ve been to 2 Fred Meyer down here and they both had the BRE Datsun and 1 of them (exit 206-ish one) had both. They’re pricy $14.99 but very well done.
Hope everyone had a great summer! I recently received this model from Almost Real - 1/18 Bentley Mulsanne 2017 - Light Emerald over Midnight Emerald by Almost Real (830501).
A little bit out of the ordinary, but this is a cool looking model and had great reviews from other collectors! Here is my take...
This is a die-cast metal model by Almost Real with full opening.
The turbocharged 6.8L V8 is highly detailed and it is an actual separate engine block (not a one piece mold).
The interior has decal wood trim, along with silver chrome paint are used to highlight the vents, and driver instrument clusters. Speaking of clusters, the dials and buttons on the center dashboard are raised, and the chrome trims are painted in. The interior floor is lined with full carpeting, and the same effect is applied to the trunk of the vehicle.
The two tone exterior emerald paint is nicely polished and deep. Orange peel in the paint is rarely noticeable. If you really want the paint to shine even more, using a polishing compound kit will definitely help further enhance the overall paint finish.
The overall body shape is accurately replicated to the real deal. With a functional working suspension, the ride height and stance is perfectly scaled down.
Like most diecast metal models with openable parts, the panel lines can make or break the model. Almost Real has done a surprisingly good job in this department. The panel gaps lines are very consistent through out this model.
From the small detail hood ornament to the Bentley logo in the front headlights, overall this 1.2kg Bentley Mulsanne from Almost Real is probably one of the best Bentley's in 1/18 scale. If you are looking to add a highly detailed Bentley into your collection and do not want to settle for a resin model, then this might be the Bentley for you.
Just recently received this model from GT Spirit. It is a 1/18 scale Honda NSX-NC1 with LB Performance kit. BTW what is the difference between Liberty Walk and LB Performance? Can some one answer this for me?
This model is one of GT Spirit's highly anticipated models this year. Did it disappoint? I will let the pictures do the talking. I will let you guys decide. Because love it or hate it, cars with wide body kits are a hit or miss. IMO I think this NSX with the LB Performance kit makes the new NSX more mean looking!
BTW, even thought this is a resin model, I give GT Spirit credit for not producing a stock NC1. If you are looking for a stock NC1, these are available from AutoART.
Just received this lovely Top Secret R34 GTR in gold by Ignition Model, and it did not disappoint!
Once again another top notch model by Ignition. I guess you can say that they are definitely the kings of replicating modified JDM (and occasional Euro) Tuner cars. The gold finish on this model is absolutely stunning. What do you guys think?
