Small imperfection on roof, but makes for a good base to paint from. Need to find another one so I can open this one.

lightly pull back on the side mirrors and then stick a nail behind the glass.

but don't use just the mirrors alone because you will snap one off for sure

wohoo! you are #68 and i am #69... i know i have a higher number but i like #69 better for some reason

i am not sure what ross means... maybe it is just him? because someone else i know just ordered one yesterday through an autoart seller in the US.

EDIT: argh my cousin just told me he's seen the red one before in a hobby store in HK months ago... why dammit why

the plain body GR.A ones like ours, are supposedly all sold out according to their suppliers.

When I picked mine up, I found out they have a ltd. ed. Calsonic version as well

#68... lucky chinese number

i saw that calsonic one on the shelf... but the moths eating my empty wallet told me no.

and the z-tunes they had for all the generations were also sold out

even the one with reebok sponsorship was already sold between the 2 hours it took for me to bail from work after getting the email and getting to the shop.

how is the steering on yours? does it work at all? mine just binds all over the place.

hey i like to think that 69 can be lucky too

but the wine red plain body 1st release remains elusive. the search continues...

Ignition model is just the old hpi employees. They started their own company after hpi shutdown their model line. I read about some pretty bad QC problems about the 1/18 r34. But that could just be a batch.

The stance of the model is sure nicer then autoart but there isnt any opening parts.

For those who are still looking for the Group A GT-R.

If you ship to the US, you only pay one shipping cost (whichever is higher) no matter how many cars you order with this seller.

so it's strictly a standard static resin model? can you tell me what the QC problems were? eg. paint? or just the earlier now-discontinued versions? because of the low production numbers i'm afraid that a batch could mean a big chunk of them are bad

I've been having a bad run lately, got a Hi-Story Nissan Silvia recently with missing clearcoat issues all over it (I was told when I complained that it's because it's a handmade model and there are always imperfections... I get that, but it's pretty major when the car's paintjob has flat spots) and my AutoArt RX-7 in blue showed up with a piece of dust stuck in the paintjob just behind the driver's door... if companies are going to charge $200+ for stuff they better not lose sight of the basics!

I was unhappy enough that I complained to where I bought it and all I got back was an email stating they would look into it and they advised me that handmade models are always going to have imperfections. Yah, I get that... but painting the body of the car shouldn't be one of those imperfections.
any pics of your silvia? not sure if you had posted it here already.

my fail button is on holiday for canada day so i will let you go this time

if it is any consolation one of my autoart sti's had a dust blemish also, but i managed to wet sand it out. autoart has a nice amount of clear on the metal parts, but the plastic portions... not so much, if any. :/

still, i wouldn't mind seeing the silvia....

now if autoart will release three more of the Japanese 90's greats:

Supra. 300ZX. GTO.

that'll be awesome.

DC2 Integra R, FTO, and re release of Evo 3-6 and GC imprezas... will be nice as well.
