outdated website.

https://www.facebook.com/hpimodelcar...30226590351259

these are no longer sold under the hpi brand. it has been taken over by ignition model (IM).

http://ig-model.com/newrelease/

also the ones shown above are resin, not diecast.

Three main places I goto in hk are ModelcarExpo, NewAce, and Hung Hing in wanchai.

When I goto to the hk side. I usually start of with going to Hung Hing Toysfirst then I would head to New Ace Models. After that I will walk over to Autoart. If you have time, you can check out Dabox Toys too.

Google map link: https://goo.gl/maps/GWrBG

For the Kowloon side, I just head to Mong Kong and goto Model Car Expo and the surrounding shops around that area. For the Richmond Commercial Building, there is a shop on the 2nd floor I believe. He sometimes have some rare models that is forsale for cheap.

Another option is contact some of the ebay sellers that are from HK. If you see any models you like, you can ask them if they can meet up instead of shipping. I did that before.

okay, this is going to sound weird, but someone i know went to one of those auctions for bankrupt/closed businesses awhile back, and he scored a bunch of big matching glass display cases that they used to showcase china for really cheap (i think it was from the old KIM JOHN chain). this is the kind that has the enclosed cubby in the bottom with the locking sliding doors where he keeps his model boxes. it's almost the same as those glass cases wilkinsons automobilia has on the lower level were all the 1/18 models are, but a bit narrower (ie. meant to be against a wall)... you could try that?

it was long time ago at cartronix at crystal mall, before they downsized... so, many many years ago.

i still see them pop up on ebay though, but they aren't cheap because they have been discontinued for so long.

there are decals that go with it, but i'm clumsy at putting those on and haven't had the courage to try it yet.

weird question of the day: how do you all keep the dust down on your collection? sometimes when i am at stores i see a small cup of water in the corner of a display case, which i assume is there to attract dust? humidity control? i'm not sure... just wondering.
