was hoping it would be better this time since it's new and (edit) post-hpi era... but no
7.5/10?
i don't know if you can all see how jacked up the rear end is... wheel offsets are wack too. but at least they all point in the same direction this time. paint has issues... and once again i ended up with a small warp in the roof. also, look closely at the rear window... sigh.

happier with this one. 9/10? because of the same old paint blistering issues. wilkinson's said it was because kyosho can't seem to get it right during the paint process and the bodyshells are not properly cleaned of contaminants after casting. thankfully it's only in an area of the rear quarter panel where it's hard to see.

thanks now i gotta buy one lol I would rather have this one then the plain silver AA one i had
thanked thumper again for warning me about kyosho's rampant paint problem
almost bought a $200 model then the seller tells me there's a small blister on the hood...who knows how many more may pop up a few years down the road

edit: nvm its 300$ jesus
egh, i only paid $180 for mine.
having said that, i am forced to not recommend that you get this one. it's really detailed, but the execution is still not up to par. as far as resin models goes, otto mobile/gt spirit are are much better.
i have more to rant about. they screwed the car down to the base so deeply that it flatspotted the tires. the tires should not be touching anything because of the spacers underneath but they got compressed.
maybe in time autoart will release one...

i accept cold hard cash or leftover halloween candy as payment

yes they are, but they are better known for their smaller scales, and they used to be under the HPI brand before getting cut loose by the company to be on their own as ignition model.
but after this last one, with the uneven quality control, high prices and there being only one distributor in the US (because they are no longer part of HPI) which makes it so difficult to get on this side of the world... it's not worth it
having said that, i've seen posts online where others buy these as upgrade projects knowing there are issues to be fixed, and then add upon them, from making them a rolling chassis (it's strictly a non-roller static model straight out of the box) or add lighting to it because resin models have no opening parts so it's a hollow shell inside with lots of room to do electronics... and they turn out pretty spectacular.
i'm going to have to search youtube again for the video i saw of one... it had engine sounds (recorded from gran turismo onto a sound card), and interior/exterior lighting (with working turn signals, etc.). it was part of a diorama that replicated a scene from gran turismo (the builder had a screen capture on a computer monitor in the background).

It sold for $53 US and $50 usd for shipping from Puerto Rico. Tear in the box but otherwise a good deal. I should have pulled the trigger. Still searching for a loose UT 993 arena red tt ! Or bite the bullet and get the GT Sprit one you posted.

i will try and keep an eye out for one as promised.
egh, i thought that one was a brand new one and did not realize that it was used, so it did go for much cheaper than i thought
gt spirit is 10x better than a maisto, but i know you don't want to spend that much because you would rather spend more on your 1:1 scale version instead of a minature...

i posted this instead of what i really wanted to show, which was of someone in japan doing the same thing. it was of a porsche owner that comissioned a 1/12 scale maquette of himself and he posted a pic of it next to an autoart porsche gt3. after that he posted another pic of himself in real life in an identical pose next to the real gt3 he owns... let's just say it was really cool but i just can't find it

I got my grubby hands on this oddity thanks to a friend in Japan... it's actually that crazy stupid expensive Mark model that I posted awhile ago of the 1:18 2002 NSX-R that was nearly $2,000... except that you can pick the model up in its unassembled state! It's kinda cool... you have to paint the body yourself and it's got all the photo etched parts and everything, you even have to put the seatbelts together with the little buckles and cloth straps... I am undecided about whether I want to build it or keep it the way it is... I'd have to have a pro shop paint it, no way I would attempt it and eff it up hahaha
how much does it cost unassembled? and is it considered part of the limited production series or separate?

It's still super expensive, they have to pay tax there and then by the time they shipped it to my friend and then she shipped it to me I think it cost me about $280
I have no idea if it's part of the limited series, I'm going to say probably not because there's no base with a plaque or any paperwork indicating it's #/whatever or anything like that. She found it for me on the PostHobby website and ordered it without even asking me if I wanted it actually hahaha good thing I did
She pre-ordered me one of the black ones too, so we'll see how that is when it gets released!

omg. marry this woman, so i can hate both you and touringteg equally
but looking at the custom build options... 95000yen for someone to build it for you
from the pics you took of the nsx, did it come partially assembled as shown, or did you already build it up to that point with just the shell needing paint?
as for building/not building it... i would say build it since it is not part of the numbered series, which means whatever you do it will not affect its value.
