i finally found a r34 police car at a good price... i've been looking for one for a long time:
i just found this video on youtube of very recent footage of a r34gtr police car on patrol. can anyone see the license plate? is it the same as the autoart model?
it also just occured to me: there is no r35 gtr police car in japan, and even though the r34 is long since discontinued, they are still in active service...

Here is the Latest News
The Last Hoorah and End of Sale
Well, we are rolling so close to the finish line with only days to go before our Ontario Street location closes. It is truly hard to believe that we have been here for 26 years--and soon we will lock the doors for the last time. It is a bitter sweet transition, but in order to survive, we must change. The great news is that we are not closing and ending - we are simply adjusting to the times.
This could quite possibly be the last email newsletter you get from us for a while, since we are moving into overdrive during the month of April. We vacate our current building at the end of that month, while setting up in our 2006 Main Street, Vancouver BC, V5T 1G5 location. Videos and pictures will be taken of the closing day, move, and set up - so we hope to share that with you all since we know you are curious about this whole thunderstorm of a shift. All that being said, we have some current info you might want to take note of.
Last day open for public retail business at 2531 Ontario Street
Sat March 28, 11am - 5pm
Drop by with your specialty car to celebrate! We have arranged for free special event street parking on the West side of Ontario Street in front of our shop and 4 additional parking spots have been donated by the church just South of us to accommodate this final day of operations. Look for the yellow and red balloons that indicate our special customer parking.
We will continue to process on-line orders during the month of April, however it may take a little longer to get things out since we will be working full force on setting up the new local. Please take note that
all on-line and in-person discounts will end
Sat March 28 at 5:00 so be sure to take advantage of these discounts while they last.
.
We are aiming to be up and running in the early part of May ~ and you will be notified of our first 'open house' to celebrate our new digs!
As this email winds down in sync with the doors shutting, I once again have many thanks to give...
Special Thanks to all those who helped Wilkinson's Automobilia churn over the years!
Ross T, Tim W, Hanson T, Adrian F, Jason H, Chris J, Peter W, Michael Z, Theo B, Jan Q, Tom W, Vadim M, Mark F, Doug W, Martin W, Tate, Calvin T, Larry D, Kevin B, Dave L, Ann B-L, Don, Doug W, Selby W, Logan W, Lorraine WW, brother Bill -who started this whole adventure with me, and even that guy who only lasted half a day! (can't even remember his name!!)
An extra special note of appreciation to all the customers who crossed our threshold over the past 26 years. Your passion and enthusiasm has helped shape the nature of Wilkinson's Automobilia and continues to energize and personalize our shop. And as we reach the end of an era, a new era unfolds. What this will look like exactly, no one knows for sure at this point. However, I look forward to our first ever open house on Main Street, and am excited to participate in the new dynamic we create together.
Hope to see you again soon...
I sincerely thank you all - it's been a great ride...
... and now a new road beckons...
Ted

Last year, the booth was actually Wilkinson's. Not sure bout this year though.
it's too bad you missed out on wilkinsons. this weekend is their last day open at their current location as a storefront.

has the newsletter mention of/or anyone gotten new autoart shipment at wilkinsons? I'm waiting on a model + 1/18 acrylic case from them but ted told me due to some montreal dock strike I have to be patient. It's been two weeks since but I don't wanna ask again at the risking sounding too demanding
if not it appears I have to wait until may when they move their warehouse to overseas auto.

Went last night, they have an AA Land Rover ($75) and a partly beat up AA Mustang FR500C 2005 ($50) that is missing a mirror.

i haven't been able to find a retailer that carries them locally.
i did ask ted last year when he was still working for wilkinsons and he said they did once try to contact the distributor but the prices they set did not give them much of a profit margin and they did not pursue it any further.
i can only find a listing for a distributor somewhere in california but they seem to ignore emails that are not from a store looking to carry the brand.
so basically i've been getting them from either kong kong or japan through retailers, but have not been able to buy or preorder directly from ignition model because i don't know how to use their online process.
btw, the prices on fleabay are a blatant ripoff. don't buy from there. one of the skylines i have that i got from hk i paid $175 for is going for over $300 and it's not worth that much.

Yah if you want some buy them from HK or Japan (our exchange rate with Japan has stayed much friendlier) you won't get charged duty.
I've have been charged duty one once on any car models I have bought the past 2 years when one of my orders went into the $600 range. That includes all the AA Signature models and whatnot that I've had come in the near $300 range.... absolutely nothing.
so i went back to what i call "diecast disneyland" after work today. only wanted a paint-damaged kyosho f40...
... ended up coming home with all this:
looks like i am starting a star wars collection.... the testarossa was free, on the condition i build it right.
i need to work my self-restraint

I bought my Veneno from amiami, and got charged 33 CDN in duties just 1.5 months back.
