pics of the 1/12 kyosho ferrari f40 lightweight i picked up today. i ranted before about kyosho paint blistering with age or from brand new, which was the case here. previous owner tried to wet sand it but to no avail and did not finish because of time, and i picked it up for a song. i know someone who does airbrush artwork professionally and he said he can fix this so...

Is there anything good left at that guys house anymore? He actually texted me today asking if I was still planning to come by (he wasn't home when I was out there last weekend and called him) but it's quite a trek from Richmond haha

there are still many nice cars, but a certain someone here bought all the good stuff and what i have been getting are the broken down leftovers like that f40.

i've been talking to the painter. he's going to do a full strip and do a bare metal respray. he wants the testarossa model for all his troubles. it costs as much as $100 on ebay right now (there is another version under the monogram brand but it is cheaper for reasons i do not know) so i am hoping this is a deal well made for the both of us. i've seen some of his scratchbuilt work before so i am sure he can do something awesome with it.

now if i could only find the 1/12 fujimi r32 gtr skyline kit...

ew. creepy...

the seller had all the iron man figurines, from the mark 1 and up with led lighting in some of them. i saw some of them last week not knowing what they were worth and since then someone bought the entire collection... all gone

only interested in star wars stuff. used to follow it years ago but haven't lately so i am not current on anything. mara jade is the other character i was thinking of. she is the daughter of luke skywalker, but she met a sad ending in the star wars universe

So what do you guys think of AutoArt's new "composite" lineup that's due out any month now? I'm not that excited, the idea of an ABS plastic body defeats the whole purpose of collecting models to me, I want to feel the weight... I might as well build them if they're made out of plastic.

Not to mention it appears the price point is going to be in the $150+ range for them........ I know the AutoArt marketing angle is that they're more accurate reproductions with smaller panel gaps than zinc can offer, but I'm fairly certain this is a production cost-cutting measure more than anything.

you are so evil... being asian, i am cheap by default. less than whatever the sell for online, depending on which one it is.

not sure what you mean by "thick band"... the camera on my phone is crap. the clearcoat was breaking out over 70% of the body like chicken pox.

Yes, it was in the same parking lot as Princess Auto was... but recently I heard that they were moving to the space now vacated by Princess Auto (ie: expanding into a bigger space)

i ordered the resin mugen rear wing for the dc5r integra type-r i posted a few pages back. i thought i could hide the crack in the wing using a carbon fiber decal but the damage is too great.

now i'm wondering if i should use the decal on the hood of the 1/12 autoart 35 gtr instead, because the paint on the hood has a rough patch on it (the downside of being a low production number )... has anyone done this sort of decal before? i'm not sure what is the best way to clearcoat over it.
